A very excellent shave this morning. I thought the long delay between uses of the Burma Shave cake soap would weaken the cake in some way. That appeared to be the case with the other cake I had a couple years ago(I forgot the brand), and I ended up flipping it in frustration. But the Burma Shave stood firm and patient, waiting to be used again. Two solid passes-one tiny weeper. This might have been a "MOST excellent shave" had I used a little more of the aftershave(Clubman Reserve Whiskey Woods), but I held back for fear my face would get boiled again from the tobacco(albeit it is just tobacco LEAF). Maybe I'll try a little more next time. As it is, I am smooth, refreshed, feeling good, and set for the day :).

Wonderful shave, Terry...but it was totally eclipsed by the photo of your precious crew. You are one blessed Grandpa!

    Pappy's got them covered.
They're kidna used to me being the morning driver. Most can't believe I do it every morning, let alone abel to do it at all. Gives me a little time with them every day, I wouldn't get otherwise.
    It's all good!

Thanks, Charlie....We have some breaks from the warm temperatures this week, thus I might as well take advantage. Like I say, I'll try a little more of the Clubman aftershave next time(which might well be tomorrow, in fact)to see if that and my face&neck have become ONE with each other. I guess Tobacco LEAF is milder than Tobacco of the "Ash Tray" persuasion.

Thank you @b1hart. Oh, I see you're from Texas. I'm glad I discovered Central Texas Soaps and The Soap Exchange from the Lone Star state. Both have real nice shave soaps.

The ultimate test, imo, of any shave soap is how well your skin is protected from the blade.
Today, I put the test soap to my ultimate challenge:
    Drum roll, please....2011 Mühle R41.
That's right, considered by many to be the most aggressive DE razor known to mankind,
or must I now say humankind?
In the wrong hands, this razor will de-glove your face faster than you can say "Jack Robinson".
I once again used Nathan's method for creating the lather with excellent (again) results:
    IMG_1143.jpeg
The shiny lather was then applied and, with extreme trepidation ;) I made the first pass.
Riding the cap and focussing on removing the lather, not the stubble,
the WTG pass was...wait for it...uneventful. No issues. The blade glided without hesitation. No epidermal removal. :happy088:
Re-lathered and made an XTG pass from ear to chin. Again, paying particular attention to my angle, the blade did its job flawlessly. :happy088:
Final pass was an ATG. Now, friends, an ATG pass with an '11 R41 is for experts only, so only perform this pass with extreme caution.
Boom. BBS. No nicks, cut, irritation. :happy088:
This name of this soap was revealed on another thread, so there's no reason to keep it a secret any longer:

    IMG_1144.jpeg
This is Fortis, by Grooming Department.
I was asked to test this lather and give my honest feedback.
I did not pay for this soap and I am not receiving any remuneration for my comments.
    This is an excellent product. Period. The lather is slick; the scent (unscented) is unobtrusive; the protection is excellent;
    the post-shave is well above-average.
I want to congratulate Mohammad for creating such a quality product and express my thanks for trusting me to test it and respond with my opinion.

Yes, DFW area. I have the CTS Barbershop, have used it several times in my daily rotation. Purchased early this summer after your posting/enabling here :). Not acquainted with The Soap Exchange yet....may check them out.
