It's a rough time....my mom's friend from college days told me that losing your Dad is bad enough(he's gone too), but losing your MOTHER is difficult(and it has been for me, even after 2 years).

For me the razor makes a bigger difference, but thats just me. Short handle with large hands feels a bit weird, easier to hold the angle with a long handle.
Can't wait to try the Arko. I think i'll use it with my Razorock synth, feels easier to make lather with it, i haven't completely adjusted to the boars.
Today i used a brand new blade.

    Nice, Joe!
I've been experimenting with my Stirling lather each morning. Amazed at how much water this stuff will take.

Give them some of both, that way they can compaire Russian steel to the superior Japanese blades. Also if you can't handle the feathers Charlie, I can PM my address to you to take them off your hands. I'm down below 300 feathers and need to stock up anyway. Don't worry, they'll be used with joy here.
    Thanks in advance.

Remember, Charlie, I look a lot like you, so what does your self-assessment say about ME? Well, I'll answer part of that....I am the fun-loving type, and at 62 that can be a good thing. This is why I say once again that I am "An East Coast Man With A West Coast State of Mind".

Thanks Perry! Lately, I have been playing with different lathering techniques to prevent my shaves becoming routine. Although I only have four brushes, I have noticed they all behave differently. For instance, I would get a better Williams lather with my Omega boar, than my Rocky synthetic. I am at the point in my wet shaving career that I have to choose the right brush for certain soaps.

Even the NAME is odd, but what else could it be called...."Finlandish???"

I prefer a short handle as i feel clumsy with the longer handles lol!
It certainly is a YMMV thing.

I think your friends are going to thank you for bringing them into the wetshaving fraternity. By the way Charlie, you are going to love that Stirling boar brush!

Me too, if the handle is very heavy. Thats why i have the Feather Popular and Gillette Slim Twist. The balance of them works very well for me.
