Good morning!

Great shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS with a ten hour stubble. I was still pretty smooth from last night's shave and could have easily walked away without shaving. I did it anyway. No redness or irritation and just a tiny hint of warmth from the alum. Good to know my technique has progressed enough that I can get away with three shaves in a 24hr period. Not sure if a situation would ever arise that I would need to do that, but good to know nonetheless.

We have the Bonavita 1900TS. 1901TS wasn't available (newer design). The basket is just rinsed and immediately put in a dish drying rack next to the sink.

Our only two comments...1)the water reservoir only does 8 cups, but the carafe will hold more, so we sometimes add a little extra water as it brews down if everyone wants coffee at the same time. This way we don't have to brew a second pot immediately. 2) The SS carafe lid, leaks about a teaspoon of coffee no matter how tight or loose it is put on, but ONLY for the first poured cup, and that's if that first cup is poured immediately (like most would) after putting the lid on. This issue is nonexistent if you have a little patience, or if the carafe has been sitting for awhile, or even hours. First cup is always poured over the sink (problem solved). We don't even fuss about it anymore.

The great thing....the carafe (if the lid is put on immediately after brewing) will keep the coffee steaming hot for hours. No scorched coffee (like say, a Mr. Coffee). Bonavita has a very quick brew time.

Honestly, I can't tell a difference in the Bonavita 1900TS brewed coffee and using the pour over setup I also showed. The water temperature is what makes the difference. I use the pour over most days, but that's because I want a different flavor, and the Bonavita is in use for Hazelnut.

Bergamot Lavender is great.

Yep. It is fantastic, unless you are allergic to the lanolin (Some people are FYI).

Good Wednesday morning.
Was going to use my power brush. The wife unit explained what she would do if I woke everyone up using that thing....

Soooooo, I got out my new enrico brush and the soap I have used the last few days.
I received my Razorock ECO yesterday and looking it over find it quite nice. It reminds me of the Razorock Hawk V2. Build well, nice sleek appearance I think it looks nice.
I loaded a new half Feather blade and gave it a test drive.
The first pass was great, the way it's designed lets you tune the blade angle from grind off your skin to smooth and comfortable. It is easier than most to "tune" the drive for me, almost instinctively adjusted the handle to smooth. The second pass was less nice, needed a new blade I was thinking, I continued.
Ok, me, I've grown accustomed to wonderful shaves, I've spoiled myself.
If I feel the blade's giving any resistants, I'm gonna go after another blade, thats just me. Up to the gord, first pass was, well, ok. The razor was easy, smooth, and taking the corners quite nicely, but... Second pass was getting rough, hmmm. I went to the blade stash where the other half of that blade was stored, then installed it properly. Ah! That's the ticket, changing to a new blade let this razor become the finish mower Razorock had intended it to be. Nice.
So if I keep a sharp blade in this tool, it works like a charm. If you raise the handel to get a smooth shave, it's wonderful.
One thing I noticed, the blade seems to sound like it's a shade to thin, not to the point of chattering, but the feel is different compaired to thicker SE blades.
I might try some Kai blades in it next time.

So I'm smooth, clean and ready for the day.
Oh and the wife unit, well let's just say,
All's quite on the eastern front.

Thank you, Bill. The "gritty" feel is particularly annoying. I did try the 150 on the strop and I don't think the last fifty laps were very efficient. I have a loupe, but I just don't "see" the edge well. This "honing" thing is keeping me from really enjoying my straights.

Bergamot Lavender was just an ok scent for me until I put the sample in my dopp kit for a weekend getaway. Lovely scent that really grew on me. You see I have the full size tub now.

Luscious lather from the Sandpiper soap today. Tons of it. Used the Marco method again and it seems to work quite well with Stirling. Smooth shaving from the Revere injector and all is well. Can't ask for much else.

Looking forward to a month of The Fat in October. I'm in.

Our football bye week is this week, so I shortened practice down to an hour today to give the kids a little reward. It's also a little selfish as we'll be leaving tonight to drive down to Mobile for visit to the in-laws. I'm taking off work tomorrow. Next week will be busy so I'm looking forward to some change in the action before all of that.

Very early on I thought I was sensitive to scented soaps. I started looking at the unscented options out there. Before purchasing any I noticed my sensitivities were getting better so I continued on with what I had. Yeah, it was poor technique and not the soap. In hindsight unscented soaps would be taking up much less space on my shelves.
