Never used the Fat....but sure hear great things about it. I may go with my micromatic open comb for October. Great shave Neal. I still have a full sleeve of Rockwell blades that I havent touched . Used the 5 that came with the razor but now I forget how they shaved . Nice shave btw Joe. Some blades give me 2 good shaves and some will go 12 . At the point where I just toss when I feel the tugging. Beautiful pic Jim.

September 27, 2019 OneBlade Genesis Modified Gem PTFE Simpson CH2 Synthetic Grooming Dept Fortis Unscented Test Soap Fine Italian Citrus Aftershave Like @wristwatchb I was up several hours too early. I just couldn't sleep thinking of all the things on my list at work. I am so ready for the work week to end. This is my sixth shave with the GD Fortis soap base. You can see I have made a serious dent in the soap but I thought it would be even more given the way the CH2 synthetic eats soap. As usual the soap was easy to lather and slick. The post shave feel is very good as well. Three passes and touch ups ended in another drama free BBS shave. A splash of Fine Italian Citrus and I hope I am ready for the day. Happy Friday everyone!!!
Thanks! I wonder what the AS-D2 would be like.. It's quite interesting to use the internet on a cheap phone like mine. Not a smartphone.
Great shave, Matthew! Awesome picture, Clint! I hope the day goes smoothly for you. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
Catching a few moments here before I take up my morning's activities. With daughter now working 8-5 day times I get to haul 4 year old grandson to his dentist appointment. I would be too. Did you hear about those Wisconsin guys arrested for bootleg vaping juice? Theirs was THC, not legal in that state, and could be linked to the sickness and deaths affecting folks across the country. That Bonavita machine offers the option to wet the grounds prior to brewing. Sounds like blooming to me. Thanks Jason! I don't know what was in that bottle before I found it at an antique store. I recently identified another I bought some time ago. Knowing it was originally an aftershave bottle is really cool.
Just a beautiful setup followed by a great shave, Clint. I hope things settle down for you at work. The weekend is near, my friend.
@Primotenore has one. He'd be the guy to ask. From what I can tell, it looks to be well constructed and finished. I had an Artist Club kamisori-style shavette. It was made well and got the job done...in a beastly manner until I used it a few times. It currently sits in @wchnu's Den. I hope it has not been contaminated with Williams soap. I also have an Artist Club folding shavette that I haven't used yet...maybe the subject of a future 30 Day Focus. It's made well also.
September 27 SOTD: Razor: Razorock Hawk V2 Blade: Feather AC Professional Super Brush: Razorock Plissoft Lather: Stirling For Him Aftershave: Stirling For Him Today is Friday, and so I am heading back to my old home for the final weekend. My wife and kids left yesterday, so I had the Airbnb to myself last night. It was oddly quiet. I spent the morning cleaning everything up and then got a shave in. By my count, this is my 16th shave with this razor and blade. They have done well, but I am ready for a change. This will be a busy weekend, as we have to pack the stuff we need for the next few weeks before the movers show up next week. My dad is coming to take the things the movers won't take such as my guns and adult beverages stored in large glass bottles. He is actually going to stop at my office in Houston for lunch on his way through town. I hope everyone has a great day.
I just inquired about having my Aristocrat and Single Ring re-plated. Not sure yet about gold, nickel, or rhodium. Thinking Rhodium for both, but possibly going with Gold on the Aristocrat and Nickel on the Single Ring. I've asked Chris at RazorPlate for his thoughts, and I'm also open to the collective wisdom of my 30 DC brothers. Regarding the blade keepers...they'll probably stay buried in the cases. Would you guys re-plate those for the sake of keeping matched sets or leave them as is? I figure these razors are users/keepers that will eventually be handed down to someone.
Wonderful "travel" shave, Jim. Good luck on the move. I hope everything goes smoothly. It's great to have your Dad nearby to help out. I'm sorry you'll be without guns and adult beverages for a few days. I hope you don't get kicked out of Texas.
And now.....it's time once again for.................the Feeeerrrrrrrriday Files -Nice to be back in line with the TSD Bay RumAftershave Splash. While it's a great skin-softener, I do get a big clove smell, at the beginning anyway. I need to shake the bottle more next time. JoAnna said it's clove-free, and while I don't disbelieve her, I need to work at making it that way. -My last Rise Superfoam can is showing signs that the end is near. Maybe ONE MORE shave with it, before the end of what has truly been a "Shave Era" for me. -I may have mentioned this when I got my first order from The Soap Exchange (their Lumberjack soap), but first time buyers get a 10% on their next purchase. Perhaps other artisan companies do this. Now that I think of it, Agadir4Men also did it. That's nice.
