Happy Saturday. The weekend at last. No rest for the weary this morning. I am up early with the wife to attend another local fall festival. As usual my duty will be to carry all her purchases. The "Soap Destroyer" ate through the GD Fortis soap whipping up a wonderful rich slick lather. Three passes and buffing the neck caught the baby with ease. A splash of Dominica Grand Bay Rum aftershave and I am ready for morning of shopping. I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday.

Epic shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Silent alum.

I rarely use the term epic to describe a shave, this may be just the second time, but yeah, epic.

Stirling Pumpkin Spice for this fine morning. The aftershave has a really nice burn from the cinnamon. My wife says I smell like autumn.

I’ve got plenty of vintage gear with patina on it that I enjoy just the way it is. I also have an aristocrat that I replated in gold to make it look super shiny and new. I enjoy both for different reasons, so, for me it just comes down to whatever makes you happy.
I do agree with you that I’d be hesitant to replate a family heirloom or something very old and rare, but most DEs are a dime a dozen, so, again, I think it comes down to whatever makes you happy.
