  4. When you know it means "shave or shower" of the day his list makes more sense.
Although the difference between my shave and shower is a bar of soap and a roll-on deodorant.
Life would be awful if we were all the same.

  6. Nice Aust, Steve. How long have you been using a straight?
  7. Thanks.

Real straights and not shavettes, only a couple of times. This is my only straight and I bought it at the Maggard razor meet earlier this year.

The shavette I have - Crown King with bone scales using half DE blades, has not been kind to me and has been harder to use. Although a configurable DE, the RR Switch was the worst for me to adapt to in its non traditional DE configuration.

I took the leap earlier this year and bought the real deal. I haven’t used it much because I’m slow with it, but today it worked really well for me just relaxing. No bloody mess and a fairly good shave. Not the closest but three passes while trying to get used to the positioning and motions. I will probably use it more on the weekends until I’m more proficient. I like trying all types of razors and my goal is to become skilled with a straight.

This is only maybe the 2nd time of missing 3 days since I took up wetshaving...... I hang my head in shame.....

The recovery was one of those shaves that reminds you WHY you do this.

The Stirling - Triumph is a dupe of Paco Rabanne Invictus. A limited edition set.

The Mighty Blue Ming was on hand with his magical soap wizardry. As clearly displayed we have wet suds that clearly are beyond spume forth. At least spume 5th or 6th. One look at the volume of super suds generated and seasoned bloomaphobes are tearing their clothes and throwing dirt in the air. The children and grandchildren of dry soapers are trembling with fear....... Yea, anyhow...... nice lather!

This was only my second use of this particular edge forward shaving device since it came back from 30k Shapton School. Performance on a 3 day usually yields a little first pass tug.......not so here. I use my other Sunday Shaver as a baseline comparison to all open edge shavers. This one is now 'edgy sharp' cuts more easily, but not as smooth. I'm sure it'll smooth out a little in time, still... excellent.

Went unusually light on the Triumph AS, cause it has a final that I'm personally not big on (probably patchouli). Still, I had to come back for a GlacialLemon Chill Overcoat. Probably give it one more shot, only after a healthy citrusy something.

    Hope y'alls weekend is good
    Shave on!
  9. That good to hear. I am sure that you will become proficient and enjoy your shaves with a straight. It's a challenge at first, especially how to hold the razor for the different passes. That was my biggest challenge. Now it's honing. Welcome to the Dark Side.

  10. I have been somewhat lucky so far but it has been challenging. Getting the top of the sideburn area is the trickiest for me because at that height I seem to block my vision no matter how I try and position myself. Also my mirror is a bit further away and without my glasses, I have to be careful approaching my face with the blade and keeping it angled properly on my face.
