OCtober 8th Gillette Old Type Zenith Boar/ Resin & Maple First Canadian Maximo Gomez Thayers Jeeves Tobacco Bay Leaf AS Switched up to a Single Ring this morning. Whipped up an ok lather and had 3 really smooth passes with this Old Type. Not perfectly smooth results, but pretty close. Love this Splash as well- My fave Jeeves scent for sure. Off to visit a number of our different locations around the area today. Probably a long day and without many chances to check in. Should be positive, though. Have a great day all!
Thank you Clint. Thank you Jim. I sure enjoy the Winners also Jim. Very good blade in my opinion. If things get tough today Clint, just think about how good your shave was and maybe that will help. Hope it goes well for you. That method definately works Terry. Very nice Perry!
I'm a bit worried that my sister "returned to the habit" after many years off of it. But her husband smokes, and she just "gave in".
Good morning gents Very good two pass shave today. I did get one weeper, but otherwise everything went well, no visible irritation and the AS didn't burn much. Have a nice day!
Oct 8th Proraso PS Red Art of Shaving SC - Olibanum & Pepper Heritage - 26mm HMW Badger Hüsgen & Ern 5/8 High Class Art of Shaving ASB - Olibanum and Pepper 3 pass DFS+. Heritage HMW badger combined with AoS SC is a hard match to beat for a great peppery sweet aroma and wonderful face lathering feel. Wow, lots of fun and went slow....low rider slow. 18 minutes for 3 passes. The Hüsgen & Ern straight smoothly swiping away everything in it's path this morning without hesitations or shenanigans. Followed with the matching AoS ASB....a very nice silky smooth ASB without feeling thick/pasty like many ASBs are (to me). Sure wish AoS would get on with releasing the O&B AS/Cologne....it's extremely subtle, but quite intoxicating to my nose. Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!
Patrick, it is an awesome feeling to shave with a traditional straight! Everytime I use one, I do smile because I get such a nice shave and that is also a fun thing to do. I was just thinking. Everyone seems to be afraid of maintenance, etc. I would say that some of you didn't have a problem with maintaining your cars and polishing them when you were younger so you can impress the ladies. It is just something to think about guys.
I too, would love to use a straight, but with my car-crash face and lack of self control, i would be afraid of the consequences! Would it be cheating to use a shavette and then go over the rough bits with a DE?
I had an over thirty year habit that I quit January of 2014. I have an end table sized humidor with a lot of well aged cigars. I limit myself to maybe one a week but usually less.
