And my tone is pretty light hearted as well. I dabbled in competitive handgun for a number of years. I even have a couple Expert level state championships (Expert not Master it's the equivalent of a semi-pro). Basically everyone were friends, but there were always big arguments over who's division or type of gear was the best. Inevitably someone would get completely bent out of shape (Not saying that's what's happened here. It just came to my mind) because some Glock guy talked smack about their 1911 (usually something about what flavor of JAM they liked). Anyway, it's nice knowing that people are the same just about everywhere. Makes life fun. On that note we also had people who collected gear and had one of just about everything and we had guys who would only buy/keep what they used. People who felt like collecting was a waste and people who loved to collect...
OCtober with the FAT October 8 Razor - Fatip Piccolo Blade - (2) Soap - Stirling Port au Prince Brush - 30DC LE Post - Alum A beautiful day in the Lou. Perfect 70's with clear skies. I'd take it all year long. Time to put the day to bed with a quality shave and this setup should do it. The Piccol with Rapira SS, Stirling Port au Prince with mutton tallow and that great earthy/grassy smell all whipped up by the 30DC LE brush. Doesn't get too much better than all that. Three nice slow and relaxed passes and the Fatip did its job with ease. I just let the weight of the razor do the work and refused to add any pressure or speed up. Nice, slow, effective and the result was quiet alum on a perfectly smooth finish. Can't beat it. Not bad for an old man shaving now. Just hope I recognize the razor the next time I see it!! Thanks to everyone here for being a part of this group that I get to share with year after year. I will say that there will be some personal challenges for me in the coming year that may be quite difficult. No matter what comes down the pike the one thing that makes every day end well is getting to come on here and herd the cats. Thanks, cats! You all make it worth it! Have a great Wednesday!
Dont know if i included everyone or not in here . Was busy day and am playing catchup. So anyway ...wonderful posts guys !
Yeah....this felt good! I'm going to lather every soap I own with this brush for the rest of the month. Think the MMOC is staying on also. The carbon steel blade( 7 head and face shaves ) didnt make the "cut" so to speak so i went with a Gem SS ( 6). Its still has a few more left in it. Tomorrow is Williams Wednesday...for anyone who cares . Just saying! Good night gentlemen.
