SOTD October 10, 2019 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Schick Razor: Schick L5 'Revere' Brush: Poculi synthetic Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat Post: Witch hazel, Country Club for Men Modern Fougere aftershave Easy shave with the Revere and The Fat. Wonderful lather and nice results. I'm enjoying the month of Fat shaves. Enjoy your day!
Todays shave was very similar to yesterdays, except a little bit closer. I think i reopened the same weeper i had yesterday or got a new one right next to the old, no irritation at all. Have a nice day!
Great progress, Daniel! I think we all get the occasional weeper or two. As time passes they will become more of a rarity.
Oct 10 Good morning, guys! Straight Razor Shave #105 Wostenholm 5/8 sq pt Semogue OC Badger Proraso Green SS and AS Nivea Men's ASB (not pictured ) I was smart this time because I had my set up laid out and stropped my razor last night just in case I got called in to work. Boy, lathering that Proraso woke me up very quickly. This is the 2nd time I used the Wosty after I honed it in July. Wow, I forgot how great a job I did because this thing is wicked sharp so that I only needed 2 passes for IBSS ++. Did catch a weep, but no irritation. Applied the matching AS and finished with Nivea to end a nice shave. Have a great morning, guys!
Thanks, Perry! Thank you, Jim! I don't get much weepers with my Feather Popular, it feels easier to handle than the Merkur, for me. But i'm sure i'll get better with the Merkur if i just use it a lot. I'll try a few different blades with it after the focus just to see does it change anything. But after that, i'll start using my other razors again, they need some love too.
Very nice Perry. Love the Schick Revere. Excellent progress Daniel. Love the B&W photo. Great shave and photo Joe.
