  3. Not dumb. That would be if you didn't ask. Ignorance on the other hand can be cured. You just didn't know yet. Google "snurdle dipper". It's a small spoon, spatula, or paddle used for moving a measured amount of soft soap or cream from the container to a lathering bowl. Think the little spoons for a sample taste of ice cream. One of those little soap sample tubs ought to give several lathers, but you don't want to use too little and not be able to see what the soap is capable of. How much is too little/much? Arrgh..depends on your water, type of brush, etc. Maybe start with 1/3 of the product? Think the size of an almond nut out of the shell. Bigger than a sugar cube. Do people use sugar cubes still? Have fun!

  4. Yes to sugar cubes! I love the term "snurdle dipper"--that phrase alone is worth the question. Thank you :)

  5. Well. Last week I got an oldie and well used goodie. Brush is pretty much shot. The knot is unlike one I have ever seen. The bowl has a chip in the bottom and has black marks all over it I assume from age. The wooden brush holder is well used and covered with old soap. Someone used this quite a lot. I’ll be cleaning it up well and maybe staining and coating the wood and trying to find the right size brush as I have many and not 1 is the correct size! I may even have to widen the wooden brush holder. I thought it was a unique piece of history. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  9. Trade from Nelson NTR.gif Traded some stuff with another TSD Member and this is my haul!

I scooped the Green PSS into my existing container so now it's full! The Red PSS is nearly full and I'm looking forward to enjoying the sandalwood scent with my tub of matching soap. The bottle of Red AS is a back up since I already have one and like it. Haven't tried many B&M products and this Fern smells good. By the time I got to the Mickey Lee AS sample I was nose blind, but I like patchouli so it ought to well received.

  13. According to @mr-razor it is

Although mine has a (English) diamond baseplate.

As far as i can tell, it is probably a start or end of run set where Gillette used old cases with new razors etc.

I have seen a few of this set around.

I would love to know exactly what it is lol.

  19. Awww, don’t don’t give up on that brush I’m sure that brush could be saved. Given a little TLC I’m sure it could be quite a looker. :)

It’s a Erskine N125 .... at one time someone overheated the nylon bristles and cooked them.
