    OCtober with the FAT

    October 11

Razor - 1918 Gillette Old Style
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Brush - Omega 10066 - BoS
    Post - Alum

Apparently, it's time for Fall here in our fair city between the rivers. High temp today was around 49 and at first pitch at Busch Stadium for the NLCS it was 44 degrees. Perfect October baseball weather!! Not quite as shocking as yesterday's 70 degree drop in Denver but still....I wore pants instead of shorts today. Major event for me.

Back to the MWF for Friday and it weighed in at 295 grams to start the shave. It seems to be losing about a gram per shave. We'll see if that holds as we finish the next three weeks or so. I used the Omega 10066 boar tonight. Realized I hadn't touched a boar brush yet this month so went to that one. It's a fine brush, especially for the price. I've had it for about 4 years now and it's soft yet scritchy a bit with nice backbone. Made the lather with ease. No challenge at all. Held the 1918 to the right angle and pressure and got another 3 pass winner!! Gotta love it.

Got fun plans for the weekend? Go get it!! Have a great one!!!

Me neither. I soak all boars and badgers, but merely wet synthetics before loading.

Great report Andrew. I don't think anyone will fault you for using something else.

I know more than 1 person has told me the rules are more of a loose guideline.

We seem to have similar taste. Obviously I love the LC and I've had great luck with Permasharp blades.

Tomorrow will likely be SR Saturday, but I think Sunday I will use the LC with a brand new Permasharp.

Have you had a chance to try PolSilver blades?

Actually my wife enjoys the hobby. She's always commenting how much she loves my clean shaved kissable face and she likes scented aftershaves. She has even switched to DE and has a '67 Slim, a '68 lady Gillette, and a Parker 66R. She even tries different blades.

My daughter uses a Leaf Shave razor with Derby Ultra blades.

    So, they participate.
