2019-10-12, Saturday This morning I was not in the mood for carrying out tests: just grabbed the Valobra soap which, for me, is a guarantee. The rest of the gear has passed any test since long. Each time I see that soap in its own jar I see it is beautiful and particular. But I bought the refill puck only and not because the deep-drawn aluminum jar is far too expensive for what it is, but because, at that time, I preferred to invest that money in a Super Aquarama almost new. Saturday 12th October Pears Glycerine Soap Stirling Black Cherry Shaving Soap Vulfix 'The Mayfair'' Badger Brush Vintage Souplex with a Gillette/Wilkinson Blade Witch Hazel Creightons Coconut/Rose Moisturiser Massimo Tutti AS The Bakelite Souplex is a recent acquisition and from descriptions seen elsewhere I was expecting the razor to be a 'bit of a beast'. Perhaps it was the blade selection, but I found it to be a little tame and it took a little work to get a DFS+ with 3 passes. I shall use something a little sharper next time!. A good shave but not quite up to my usual expectations.
