Thanks, Blair! The Dovo BQ is their most inexpensive straight razor, but it does a great job.

 

I for one am a cart hater Randy. I despise these companies for taking my money for years and not delivering on the promise of a smooth shave or even close to a decent shave . So glad I discovered wet shaving.

Another shave with my OCtober focus gear is in the books, and everything came together per the SOP. Sometime this week, I'll start seeing the bottom of the shave cream container. It has been a fantastic cream, and I'd certainly buy it again.

We spent a long afternoon at the hospital having tests, but everything went smoothly. All the tests are finished, and the waiting for test results begins. We capped off the afternoon with errands and a late dinner.

All things considered, we had a very good day. I hope you all did as well.

 

i feel the same Patrick..worse still,gillette de was still around when i started shaving ,and i was told carts were the way to go..i even dropped the canned goo for the last 10 years and used brush and soap..well williams..tried different techniques, it was better but still crap..grew a beard..thankfully i saw the light..i am not the new messiah of wet shaving but i thoroughly enjoys the new to me /old process of vintage de..and i have the crew here to thank for my success..

No, not really. RAD was part of it. I bought some on the cheap to restore. Some are customs. Most are in really good shape and sit in a box waiting to be used.

Thanks Daniel. We didn't go hungry. We toured the Villages of Italy, and every small town had a nice selection of local wines. "Farm to table" dining was popular, and we even visited a farm where the dog dug the truffles that were used in the meal preparation. One evening, we actually got to prepare our own meal (local foods and recipes), and the family cooked and served it.

I admire the Europeans' ability to slow down and enjoy life's simple pleasures. It is much different here in the US.

I would love to see Finland one day, and I'd definitely try the mämmi. Here in my neck of the woods, we're known for our Hot Browns and various brown liquids.

Rick Steves is a fantastic source of information on travel in Europe. He even teaches you how and what to pack. We've taken a couple of his tours. You can also purchase his travel guides and go on your own. He will immerse you in the local culture, you'll meet some really nice folks, and you'll make new friends.

Our tour guide and bus driver were absolute hoots! They led our group in singing this song on the tour bus after a lunch that involved a little too much wine.

 

I got hooked at 18 yrs old when Jillette used to send you a cart razor for your 18th birthday. Dont remember seeing many other choices around that time . Maybe 1 blade Bics and stuff like the Trac 11 or Atra.

 

I'm not a cigar guy, but I think you'd be pleased...

 

The cups are maybe 6 ounces. Kinda small, but they keep bringin' 'em. We drank mostly Cappuccino, but Caffè americano is pretty good too. A couple of these in the morning will get you started off right.
