OCtober 15th Razor: OneBlade Core Blade: Feather FHS (3) Brush: Grizzly Bay FireOfUdun High Mountain White badger Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: PAA Cavendish PAA witch hazel PAA unscented Star Jelly AS: PAA Cavendish Tobacco Tuesday Good morning! Great shave to start the day! Three passes for a DFS result. Silent alum. The blade was past it's best. Felt like it was working harder to make it through my stubble and left some behind along both jaw lines. Looks like two shaves will be the limit for me with these blades. Have a great day!
An overlooked tobacco soap/aftershave is Asylum Shave Works Old Virginia. Exquisite. Even better is Manuel's Eufros Tobacco. Amazing. Aramis makes Tobacco Reserve, which is sure to please. Whenever Tabac is mentioned in "tobacco" soap threads, I like to remind the poster, that Tabac's scent is based upon the tobacco "flower", not the leaf. It's really NOT a tobacco scent, in the sense we are speaking.
Thanks Clint. I rediscovered my bottle of Floid in the last couple of weeks, and I really enjoy it. Hope you're having a great week.
Thank you Jason. I never tried the G&T but theres something about the Blackbeard I just like . Very nice shave Rick! Thank you Daniel. Thank you Joe. Awesome shave Terry!
I guess I have been fortunate in that I have basically had good to great shaves with most of the carts, electrics and razors I have used. I will say that I have never had trouble with irritation shaving no matter what stupid stuff I try. I will still gladly use a cart when I fly only with a carry on bag.
Great shave and photo Jim. I have gotten as many as 5 shaves on one Feather FHS blade. But it took a lot of pressure and was not really good at all past 3 shaves. My new Core V2 has shipped and should be here before the end of the week. I will try it out with a modified Gem blade and post the results and instructions for modifying the blade.
My week is going pretty good. Today is the last real tax deadline for 2019. All the C Corps and Personal returns that filed an extension are due today. We only have a few that need to be put to bed this morning. Whew, another tax year in the books.
Very nice Jim! I liked the Feathers sharpness out of the gate but I found it dulled quickly. I remember @Terry asking me what I was going to use for the second pass and now I know what he meant . I think I got 2 head and face shaves out of mine and it started tugging .
Thank you, Patrick! My favorite DE blade is a first use Feather. I normally go three shaves with them but there is a noticeable drop off by the second shave. I've tried a fourth shave on them, pretty darn tuggy.
