When I saw this razor lot with the Promotional Montreal Olympics Schick injector it brought back a happier time when Father and the boys & girls at the Ford dealership were buying lottery tickets in big #'s as a group, the Lottery was to pay down the cost of the Olympics.(First large lottery in North America) Dad was jotting down #'s on live TV(big event) and when the #'s were finished out of the air tumbler he thought he had won and my thought's were easy street here we come. He later admitted with a red face in front of the neighbors that they were his #s he was writing down and we were back to struggling in life again in a instant. Razor : Schick champion injector L type for the 1976 Montreal Olympics promotion sponsor for Schick injectors. Blade : Personna SS PTFE injector (1) -great blade in the L type Soap : Proraso Red Sandal wood Brush: Razorock Plissoft Preshave: Brush wash face with CeraVe hand bar soap + Dab of Aloe Vera gel afterwards Post shave: witch hazel splash Post shave: Proraso red sandal wood with witch hazel + Nivea balm Results : CCS,DFS,BBS +aftershave indicated no irritation + no weepers = Have some great shaves!
very cool Ron..school and playing in the neighbors tree fort were my memories of those years.and my dad's friend's 1972 blue mustang..
Schick G8, Personna ptfe blade, shave 4. This is the mildest of the type G razors I've used. I did a few swipes with the G1v3 and I could feel a difference in amount blade feel to the face and audibly they sounded different. With that said this razor is another one of those unremarkable performers that just gets the job done with no fanfare what so ever. It maybe mild but it is very efficient and I got a BBS shave out the razor. What is surprising is how much the G models I've used vary in shave aggressiveness. If I had to put them on a shave scale of 1 - 10 the G1v1 would be at about 5 1/2 the G1v3 4 1/2 and the G8 a 3 1/2 or 4. Either way all them get the job done and all regardless of aggressiveness are efficient shavers. To put that scale in context here are the 3 G1 variants. G1v1 1946 - 1947 Pictured on the right is the G1v3 1953 - 1954 and on the left G1v2 1948 - 1952 G1v1 is identified by the spring which still says Schick Injector like the E model injectors. G1v2 and G1v3 both have the newer spring that says Eversharp Schick. v2 has a squared ferrule and v3 has the rounded ferrule same as you see on the G8.
I'm glad I brought some of your fond memories back also, strange how a razor can stir a memory like I described also.
https://sharpologist.com/2011/10/why-se.html Its the opposite, surely? An injector is a SingleEdge razor blade. Isn't it?
Yes single edge blade if we define the razor by blade type. As I said it's a name designation not type designation. For example if someone's name was sh*tbag does that make them a type of sh*tbag?
Semantics is a wonderful thing. Case and point putting doing public relations for a fortune 500 company on your resume when describing your job duties working the drive through window at McDonalds.
