Sunday Follow-up

After experiencing a wonderful shavette shave yesterday using my new v-type grip to make that elusive under the jaw, upper neck, side to center move.... I wanted to check it out with my top straight, the Rasoir Sabre - My Fine Steed. I think I can do this with all my straights despite the additional bulk of some.
The Blue Ming was 'game on' today being out early. I did throw him for a loop by not getting out a brush..... You see, somewhere I made the statement the other day that with my water, I could probably shave without a brush. So I tried it.
No incredible damage, but for future reference it is not recommended when 'chasing the baby' with a straight for the second day in a row.
Now I know that some of ya'all never leave the sink without a BBS, but I usually focus on comfort.
First, alternately using your hands to apply an incredibly slick soap like Stirling, then pick up a straight is ill-advised. You really need get some alum on your hands to get the grippy needed on the razor. And... You really never get a puffy lather, even with a washcloth. So.... Max Headroom declares 'Suds is Boss'.
Second, there is no residual sickness. Edge forward, you can see the soapy water carving off similar to what is seen in good honing. Then, almost nothing is left for that quick second or third swipe. Almost dry.
End result was a near match to yesterday. I didn't bother to check it with a cotton ball, cause I failed that test yesterday.
Alum was noisy, but not screaming 'fire'. Rinsed it off like usual, and grabbed the 'face freezin' Stirling Glacial Witch Hazel. Smells like Bengay, but it is..... oh so cool soothing.
Finished up with the Dirty South Shavers AS.
Have a great week gang!
To those engaged in the challenges of life, you have my prayers.
