Hi Danny and all my 30 Day Crew Brothers!
I'm still around and continuing my OCtober focus! I'm even helping a young gent get started with a Gillette Tech kit. He likes tobacco scented products (the tobacco discussion initiated by
@b1hart a few days back was very timely), so I'm lining him up with Stirling Haverford soap and aftershave. I'll also throw in puck of Tabac so that he can partake of a classic old man scent.
Danny, I pray that you and your family have begun the healing process. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of both your parents. Words cannot express how difficult that is for a son or daughter. You have to lean on God for the strength, as well as family and friends. My Bride and I have both walked that road, and it is very difficult.
After a long series of tests, my Bride received a diagnosis this week that requires weekly treatments going forward. She completed another test today, and then we met with a Nurse Practitioner to help us understand what lies ahead. It will take several weeks for us to settle into our new routine, so I'll drop in as I can. (I miss this band of shady characters when I don't check in.) I'm sure it will get better once we establish our new norm. It wasn't the diagnosis we wanted, but we are trusting in the Lord and we have hope. (That's all I really want to share in the open thread.) I thank all of you for the prayers, encouragement, and kind words. Please keep the prayers coming!
My Bride's condition required us both to stop volunteering at the children's hospital due to the infection risk. Hopefully, we will be able to pick it up again sometime early next year. However, today was my first day working individually with some sweet kids in a local Kindergarten class. We are working on numbers, letters, and memory words. I plan to volunteer a couple of hours a week, and I already love it. My Bride loves the weekly break from Charlie as well.
I was talking with one of my kids today about the colors we were wearing. I called out my black shoes, blue pants, and red shirt. She quickly reminded me that I had silver in my hair.

I love it!
You all take care and have a great weekend. I plan to be around enough to keep things stirred up.
