    OCtober OC - attempt

    Col Conk - Bay Rum
    Stirling Tuxedo
Gillette New Short Comb (Feather on 5)
Parker Variant {5} (Dorco on 3)
Focus Slim Al R28 (GSB on 5)

Yesterdays shave was supposed to be an easy and lazy 2 pass WTG affair.

    Not so.

I chose the Colonel because you can always puff an easy spume of lather... almost. Col Conk is the Max Headroom approved low investment shave soap. I usually am not a Bay Rum fan, but this is sweeter, less spicy than others I've tried. Good for me.

In order to remain open minded I tried some of the best lathering methods put forth by the AridSoapSymposium. Wetting the brush tips and swirling was way too much work. Adding a little water did the trick..... well, maybe a lot of water. Bingo, problem solved.

In keeping with the crowd the Short Comb was to make Short Work of the stubble. Not so. Feather on 5 used to be fine. I could have worked my way through it, but nah.

Grabbed the Parker Variant set it to 5 and went at it for the Dorco blade's third outing. Still, too much work.

Grabbed the Focus R28 all aluminum edge forward professional barbering tool for the unplanned 3rd and ATG pass. The GSB on 5 pulled it off. I usually stop at 4.

Finished up over achieving my goals with the Proraso Menthol AS lotion. A soothing concoction that reminds me a little of a Green Irish Tweed dupe I've used, but lighter, and no deep hanging remains.

So 3 blades conked out and binned. Think I'll hit the stones and strops today with one of my straights and see if I can duplicate that new edge I'm liking.

    Shave well, shave free.

Razor: Christopher Bradley Karve OC D Plate
    Blade: Voskhod (4)
    Brush: Oscar 11 w/ Omega 10049 Boar
    Soap: Route 66 Casablanca
    Aftershave: Vicky Tiel Achille Cologne
    Bowl: Suribachi Blue

I haven't been able to contact the owner of Route 66 shaving soaps for quite sometime now. Don't know what happened to her. Anyway this is another fine example of the soaps they make. It smells great and whips into an excellent lather. I don't see it listed on their site any more.
I have spoken about the Karve OC D Plate before and I stand by my post. This is an excellent razor. I'm still in love with the @oscar11 w/Omega 10049 Boar. If a man can love a shave brush, I am guilty! I spent a little extra time working with the Route 66 Casablanca in the Suribachi bowl with outstanding results. I landed a rich, thick, slick, with lots of cushion and glide lather. Another Vicky Tiel Cologne called Achille. It comes in a spray, which is good as you don't want to use to much. All in all 2 passes with a near BBS.
Hope you like the photo. I was quite the trek.

Great photo of the shave, Doug. As you may recall, I myself have been asking for Kathleen about 3 times since I last saw a post from her. No member here has said anything, with the exception of one who said he saw a post from her in a different website. You mention @oscar11. He was the one who PIFed me the brush I call the "Boston Celtics Mascot". Obviously that isn't the real name of the brush, and I've been "hinting" for the real name but have not heard from him on it.
