SOTD, I really enjoy this GEM junior Parade and I recommend this razor if you come across one, almost care free to use and with the tapered handle you can stand it up if wish while between lathering passes. Razor : Gem junior Parade 1943 variant-MFG 1933-43 Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (4) Soap: Barrister & Mann Seville Brush : Razorock Plissoft Preshave: Brush wash face with CeraVe hand bar soap + Dab of Aloe Vera gel on beard area. Post shave: Dickinson's witch hazel (great for skin care issues) Post shave: Razorock Emperor with witch hazel + Nivea balm Results : CCS,DFS,BBs + aftershave indicated minimal irritation + no weepers= Have some great shaves!
Depends on blade system you choose there is a little learning curve. Schick injectors or oneblade core are the easiest to learn if coming off Cartridge razors were Gem takes a little skill and the blades are some of the least expensive and sharpest IMO. I really like Gem and Schick razors at the moment and yes I still use my DE razors occasionally. Winter months in Northern Alberta Canada when my older beard & skin becomes dryer and tougher is when the single edge shines IMO because the blade thickness is more suited for these challenges. typical grind for SE blades.(SE blades are .009-.010 thousands thick compared to .0035-.004 thousands of a inch for DE blades. ) Have some great shaves!
TNNSER Thursday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Proraso Sapone Jayaruh #340 Badger TNNSER 3D Green/Black CVS CS SE CWS PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Proraso Sapone face lathered well with the Jayaruh #340 Badger Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the TNNSER 3D Green/Black razor with a CVS CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Had my first shave with a new-to-me lather catcher -- the Le Coq. It came with wedges, which I still need to hone, so I used a wedge-simulator/adapter on a GEM SS PTFE blade. The soap was Haslinger's Schafmilch lathered with RR 24mm Plissoft. I definitely need to perfect my technique with this beauty, but I got a relatively close, moderately comfortable shave after 2-passes.
Fri 25th Oct. Cyril Salter /MS. ED2band Arran Aromatics Bay Citrus Schick Type O "Clone " Schick S/S Twin-Japan [ 5 ] Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion I really like the O "Clone" which many regard as too mild. I find it to Shave very smoothly but quite effectively, and is forgiving which allows me to work away to clear any stubborn areas of growth without any problems. Today, I had a nice shave which resulted in an extremely close all round finish.
Nice shave! I like the Type O clone as well. Works quite well and the twin blade makes it even better.

SOTD, Took out my Everready 1914 first generation blade stops SE razor and had a wonderful shave. Another great razor if you like audio feed and great results. I like audio feed back and this ER 1914 amplifies and then there are folks who do not like audio and find a little fault in clamping of the blade when they hear it. The razor works well even for over 100 year old design of Perfection. Razor: Ever ready 1914 1st generation blade stops- MFG 1914-20's Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (5) Soap: Italian barber Amici Brush: Razorock Plissoft Pre-shave: Brush wash the face with CeraVe hand bar soap+ Dab of Aloe Vera clear gel on beard area. Thank you very much. It is good to be shaving again, and I am feeling pretty good except for the bum leg. Only six more weeks of non-weight-bearing.

I just did a cold water single pass with very light touch up for a SAS to run to the grocery store and the hardware store with my wife and kids. I want to do a comparison shave with these two soon but didn't want to wait till then to use them both. TNNSER 3D with Gem SS PTFE Enders Speed Shaver with proline B20 Stirling Executive man on two band badger Quick shower and hit the road. Both razors are a joy to use but the TNNSER 3D is definitely easier to load.
