Sun 27th Oct. Jayaruh Syn. No67 Vitos Super Red Alu.Hawk/ Windrose Handle Feather Proguard [ 3 ] Tuff Green A/S Lotion Today on a whim I decided to use a Feather Proguard blade for the first time in a conventional AC/SE. Previously had used to in my Occams/Oren with great success. With a good lather from the Vitos it was a most relaxed Shave, and the Razor/ Blade combo so forgiving I was able to work away with ease to get a trouble free close all round finish, that I am very Happy with. I think I may well be transferring this blade to other Razors to see how it fares in different ones.
Sunday 27th October Vitos Pre Shave Cream Vreto Mystic Woods Shaving Soap Simpsons Duke 1 in Pure Badger TNNSER 3D with a GEM SS PTFE Blade (#5) Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber Palmer's Moisturiser Boots Fresh Wood AS 2 passes for a lovely 'Face Feeler' shave. The blade is probably past it best now.....but I am curious as to how long it will last with this razor/blade combination.
Sunday shave and I like the Schick experience on this day if possible, Still enjoying my Schick M3 adjustable razor I recently purchased, one of these days it will get a Twin II blade to test out that others rave about in this particular razor. Razor : Schick injector adjustable Model 3- MFG 1970-72 Blade : Personna injector SS PTFE (4) Soap: Italian barber Amici Brush: Yaki tuxedo knot 24mm+ Preshave: Brush wash face with CeraVe hand bar soap + Dollop of Aloe Vera gel on beard afterwards. Post shave: Dickinson's witch hazel Post shave: Amici As with witch hazel + Nivea balm Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + aftershave indicated minor irritation + 1 weeper= Have some great shaves!
SE Sunday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Vintage Life's Licorice Shave Soap Jayaruh #340 Badger J.A. Henckels CVS CS SE PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Vintage Life's Licorice Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #340 Badger Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the J.A. Henckels razor with a CVS CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... I used this spacer by @riverrun to simulate the angle of a wedge.
Nice comfortable shave with the Pal adjustable today. Proraso White pre shave balm, Cyril R. Salter Wild Rose on Two Band Badger.
Out-Cash OCtober While my detractors may wish to claim that my Hardware Expansion Sponsors @jluc and @clint64 worked their magic for September, I proclaim Out-Cashing in OCtober totally justified on this razor. Giving it a run with a Chick Blade proved to be sufficient to subplant the Schick I1 for the management position in the Max Headroom Injector department. I will have to see what the Supply (Personna?) blade is like in the I1 though. Great shave with the 2019 meetup memorabilia. As was pointed out by my Hardware Expansion Sponsors, the time to get in on the Steel products before the price increase is now. Great stuff happening for the Supply People, Shark Tank, new lower cost razors, new blades, new injector mechanism, and who knows what else the future will bring. Nice stuff for good folks. And no, I'm bailing out on my love for edge forward shaving devices, I got some help from another Hardware Expansion Sponsor for a piece from the other side of world in 'the Land of Sharp', to show up sometime in November. I won't say who, but Joseph knows who he is. Out-Cash OCtober baby!
Monday 28th October Clubman Shave Butter (Pre Shave) Lea Shaving Stick (Tallow) Vulfix 'Hyde Park' Badger Brush TNNSER 3D with a GEM SS PTFE Blade (#6) Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber MWF Moisturiser Epsilon Blue Mediterranean AS A rather 'bracing' cold water shave today as the temperatures outside dipped below freezing for the first time. 2 passes for a perfect finish
Mon 28th Oct RazoRock Syn.24mm P & B Pall Mall Mongoose B3 Feather Proguard [ 4 ] Massimo Dutti A/S Lotion Today I switched the Proguard into the Mongoose. Exceptionally pleased how it dealt with the upper parts of the face, super smooth. However,I did not get it quite right around the neck, much better with the Hawk yesterday.
SOTD October 28, 2019 Prep: Cold water and PAA Cube pre-shave soap Blade: Personna Razor: Schick B1 Brush: Surrey badger Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat Post: Witch hazel, PAA Boomtown Bay Rum aftershave
Had a very comfortable quick cleanup shave with the TNNSER 3D this morning. This razor performs excellent. Sometimes when I shave multiple days in. Row I get a bit of irritation on my neck. Even with a fair amount of buffing on the problem spots I haven't gotten irritation from the TNNSER 3D.
