    Razor: 1907 Gillette Single Ring
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
    Brush: Century #5
    Soap: Men's Soap Company Bay Rum
    Old Spice Mug

    Just got a 1907 single ring yesterday. The teeth were bent leaving way too much blade exposed on one side. I used the plate from my Merkur 25c as a guide and bent the teeth back slowly with a nylon mallet (love gunsmithing tools). Now both sides shave about the same in the medium to high agressive range. I still like the shave of the NEW LC better but I am proud to make this razor a part of my collection.

    I have had closer shaves. The fresh memory of my first try before straightening the teeth kept me on the conservative side. I have a small, irritated spot below my right sideburn from that first test.

    I decided to use the oldest gear I have so I used my Century brush and Old Spice mug. The soap is just a glycerin soap that melts easily into the mug. I know the gear all comes from different decades, but its what I have.

    A few random thoughts:

    1) I used the @RyX method this morning of brushing in the pre-shave soap. I rubbed the Cube around my wet face and then face lathered it with the Surrey brush. It made an exceptional lather and I almost just shaved with it. But I left it on, lathered up The Fat, and the washed it off and face lathered The Fat like normal. I've never used a brush with pre-shave soap, but it certainly worked and worked quite well.

    2) WSP offers samples of their bar soap for 20 cents, so I threw one in on the last order. You don't request a scent. He picks one and drops it in. I ended up with Mahogany and what a great scent! I may have to look at it for a shaving soap and splash one day down the line. Masculine scent - woodsy, cedar, etc. Very nice.

    3) I was able to offload the Stirling Sharp Dressed Man set earlier this week. Looking for another candidate or two to sell or PIF away. Trying to whittle down the den some still.

    4) I'm going to set a shaving goal for 2020 to finish off a tub of Stirling. Not sure I can do it, but I'll try. I may attempt one of the smaller 3oz tubs and not the big 5.8oz.
