October 31, 2019 Supply Co V2 with 2 dot plate Personna Brad Sears Disco SV Manna di Sicilia Shave Soap and Aftershave
I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to try out the TNNSER razor. My first round was today with a fresh GEM stainless blade. I'll cut right to it. I got a remarkably close shave with almost no effort from this razor. It's really something. My thanks go out to my friends @Jayaruh for sending it over to me to try and @twhite for designing such an amazing tool. Cheers Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk
Mike I am glad you got to give it a go and you liked the shave. Maybe 3D razors are the future. I can be on the cutting edge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Lol I'm pretty sure that you are on to something here. It's an amazing tool! Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk
They could be now. Low cost disposable SE 3d printed razors are something I think most here would jump on. Disposable injectors especially with different types of aggression from mild to wild and various efficiencies using different color handles for each I think would get a lot of people would otherwise not to use injectors.
PiacenzDay Wednesday The day I celebrate mid week by using the soap all others aspire to be like when they grow up, Stirling Piacenza. Another shave with the Injectors still wrangling away. But first, the Stirling Tuxedo kicked in the warp drive to puff the Stirling Piacenza suds up to spume factor 9. The Schick I1 was back in form with its trusty Chick armament. The Supply spiffy young buck went straight for the Japanese steel, the Schick Proline. In the end, it was a draw. With slight adjustments, each can deliver a totally rewarding shave. For my preference, I'm going with the Supply loaded with a Proline. A lighter more delicate touch is all that is needed. I like it. I also like that the razor disassembles for easy cleaning. The I1 can get schmutzified pretty easily. Finished up with the Piacenza AS & EdT and went about my day. I'll be anxious to see what the new Supply blades will be like. Did I say that you can beat a price increase on the Supply hardware before Nov 1st.
You.....cutting edge! You killin me ovah heeyah!!! You're the M-A-N And your inventions are proof that there is a future to the fuctional Art Masterpiece Designs that we so love to shave with, aswell as a Past . Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Thur 31st Oct Omega 11126 boar P & B Citra Royale ATT SE1 / Windrose handle Feather Proguard [ 7 ] Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion I have now completed a rotation of my AC Razors, and all have been extremely comfortable and all with a satisfyingly close all round finish. The one thing they had in common was the Feather Proguard blade which I switched between them. I shall be purchasing some more of them as they really work well for me.
SOTD, I came across Williams mug soap that I have not used in a while(decades?) and thought I had better give it a try. From what I have seen how to lather Williams is load well and apply to face. I being a little different loaded well and into the lather bowl and it behaved through out my shave with reasonable good protection. It just brought back some memories with Father using the stuff. A lot of the drug stores do not stock Williams in our community like they did a few years back. Razor: Gem Feather weight-MFG 1950-53 Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (7) Soap : Williams mug soap(Non Vintage) Brush: Razorock Noir 400 Preshave: Brush wash the face with CeraVe hand bar soap + Dollop of Aloe Vera gel to beard area. Thursday's Reformation Day Shave Cold Water Rinse Fine Snakebite Shave Soap Jayaruh #30RS TNNSER 3D Green/Black CVS CS SE CWR Lucky Tiger AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Fine Snakebite Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #30RS Badger Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the TNNSER 3D Green/Black razor with a CVS CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Had a great shave today with the Gem Jr. Bar just two passes with light cleanup. Love this razor and the Mer Shavings Mysore Sandalwood soap.
Thursday OCtober 31 I spent the last few evenings honing 8 wedge blades and my hope was that one or a couple/few I honed properly. I varied my technique slightly for each blade thinking I can adopt the technique used for which ever blade is honed best - assuming at least one is honed well. For today's shave, I used 3 of those wedges in 3 lather catchers for my shave and to test how I did honing. Bowl/Scuttle - GP12 Soap - La Savonniere du Moulin Brush - Simpson 400-3 Blade1 - Kampfe Bros Star Razor1 - Kampfe Bros Star lather catcher US Pat 6/15/80, Eng Pat 3/8/87 Blade2 - M-K Heljestrand Razor2 - Kindal Heljestrand lather catcher Blade3 - Heljestrand Razor3 - CV Heljestrand lather catcher Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Epsilon Blue A/S Shave rating 5 of 5 Before anyone gets in a tizzy, all 3 are lather catchers but all 3 are also OC for OCtober. I started with the Kampfe with Kampfe blade WTG on one cheek by my ear. The blade was cutting but could have cut better. I switched to the Kindal with MK blade when I started on my other cheek. This blade felt a little sharper than the Kampfe. When I got to my neck and chin and mouth area, I switched to the other Heljestrand with the regular Heljestrand blade. Wow, this wedge was sharp and cut smoothly. I actually honed one blade so far well. Anyway, I finished up the first pass and did the 2nd pass XTG with the Heljestrand with regular Heljestrand blade. 2 passes, overall DFS+ with my cheeks down to my jawline BBS. It would be an understatement to say I'm happy. I just need to see how I did with the other wedges (I have 5 more to test). At worst, I can follow the honing technique I used for this Heljestrand blade for the rest of my un-honed blades. I finished off with the Epsilon Blue A/S. Overall, an excellent shave. Now on to NOvember. Happy shaves to everyone. - Ken
