I've used vintage Williams & Colgate shave soap. Thought I'd try another from the old days. No ship date yet, but it's in a tin and came with the mug & brush. NIB/NOS!
Rebranded Surrey soap. Looks like early 2000's. One of my first forays into wet shaving was with an identical setup, save that the brush was a red and white two-tone. I've always found it a bit odd that burmashave was resurrected as a lathering soap, when it's rise to prominence was as a brushless cream. *shrug.* Surrey later became Van der Hagen, and the old tallow formula was reformulated post VdH.
I've owned the red & white boar brush, too. I passed it on to someone else as part of a starter set. Don't recall it being bad, just not as good as an Omega. I do hope this is "old soap". VdH is OK as far as glycerin soaps go, like Col Conk products. Still have most of a puck in that blue & green bowl, but the brush that came with it shed it's heart out. I picked up an older Surrey boar brush in a garage sale. Same shape handle/better knot. It's doing much better considering it's years older than the VdH.
Now that is a name I've not heard, or thought of, in a long, long time! What was the old slogan that went with that? Or was there one?
After inspecting my current vs new bottle: #20/75, batch 5, 8/25/15 #61/68, batch 20, 7/22/19 I'd say, based on this, that they have significantly increased production year round, with 15 batches made in the last 4 years alone.

Ordered a package of Schick (Chick) Injector blades shown on the card on Amazon and a package of Schick blades shown on Amazon as not on a card. It's been said by someone that they'd ordered the "not carded" ones before and they too came on a card. So, I'm considering it an experiment to see just what I get. But the "uncarded" offering on Amazon is about $2 per pkg cheaper than the ones on the card. If they end up being one and the same, I know what I'll do going forward!!
Well I just ordered one of the NOS Gillette Psycho Tech razors with replica key. Not sure why. I guess part of me wants weird unique stuff like that. I need an enabler to pat me on the head and tell me it's going to be okay.
