It's a no-repeat November for me with everything except brushes. Just don't have 30 yet so I'll go through them all then double up where needed. Everything else, though, is a one time thing this month.
I decided to grab a classic razor to start with. The Gillette Tech is a workhorse razor that stood the test of time and continues to do so. It's a mild razor so different than what I usually grab, but you can't argue with its performance once you get your technique down. For the blade I reached into my desk drawer where I have a bunch of loose ones and out came the Topaz Platinum. Featuring "Platinum Sputtered Edges" (the way they spray the platinum on) it comes from the mind of Malhotra in India. Now part of SuperMax Corporation, Malhotra was one of of two major Indian blade manufacturers. The Topaz blades aren't bad at all. Not the sharpest you'll find, nor necessarily the smoothest but they are far from horrible.
On to the soap du jour. I chose to open up the wooden bowl that was made by
@jtspartan and that I won with a raffle. Why open that bowl? Well, it's super cool and awesome, so there's that. It also holds Fine Italian Citrus as well. Haven't used it much but it is a really nice soap with a rather subtle scent that is quite pleasant. It also features a slick and cushy lather. Very nice indeed.
Three passes with the Tech finally brought the baby home. Took a bit to get used to a mild razor again but once I had the angle down it was a very smooth, comfortable and effective shave. Alum was silent so all is well.
Nice way to start the month. I'll pick up all new stuff tomorrow. Have a great Saturday!!
