  5. Welcome to the 30DC.

As a former neck burn participant, I suggest 3 things starting out.

    1) Make sure of the direction of your beard growth and shave only with the grain (WTG) for a little bit.

    2) Stretch that skin well

    3) Don't over shave. Sometimes good enough is good enough! The rest will come.

You will be cautioned not to jump around on blades yet. When I did my 30 Day Rule, I used Feathers 3 days each, and out.

    November 2

    Razor - Edwin Jagger DE89l
Blade - Super Max Stainless Plus.jpg
    Soap - Stirling Satsuma
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum

It's no-repeat November for me so on to another set up. Staying with another mild razor with the EJ DE89l. This was one of my first razor purchases back in 2014. It's one of the "recommended beginner" razors that really does perform quite well. If this thing was made of brass instead of zinc I would like it even better. However, for what it is, it's excellent. For the blade I grabbed randomly and came up with the Super Max Stainless Plus. Vidyut Metallics in India was the original source for Super Max blades. They bought out Malhotra and renamed the entire company Super Max and moved the HQ to Dubai. They do have offices in the USA. I always did like the Super-Max blades even if they aren't up to Russian standards. They're still better than the majority, in my humble opinion.

Soap - Stirling Satsuma with the wonderful scent of mandarins and oriental spices. The bigger Stirling synthetic had no issues loading up and producing pounds of rich Stirling lather. I did three passes to finish BBS with no cuts or alum irritation. Simply grand shave even if the third pass took a bit of extra effort due to the mildness of the razor and the blade being really good but not as sharp as most I use. No complaints, though, as I finished with a great result and got to spend some nice relaxing time. Have a great Sunday.

  18. This thread has always been "troll-proof". We knock 'em down just like Harry and Ron did in the first Harry Potter! Stick a wand in their nose and make 'em sorry they ever wandered in.

  19. That's a really good list to work off of. I agree with a lot of it, but have to modify when I run into too many carbs. Those turn to sugar, of course, and my blood sugar will race for the top of the meter. Couscous is really an offender there, even though I love it. Same for even whole grains. A couple of slices of whole wheat bread and my meter starts heating up from the numbers. We stopped eating ground beef almost 10 years ago and switched to turkey. That one is a really great switch.
