I got my Mitchell's Wool Fat grated and pressed into my container. I could not resist......yes I had to do a test lather. It does not take much and this stuff whips up very nice. I feel a FATT (fat + ATT) shave coming on for in the morning. Have a great night guys.
Great shave Jim! I know it sound so wrong, but I've cut by fingers with a razor more than my face and head. What's up with that??? tp
Gosh Dale, I can still remember when if I could say " just another nice 2 pass shave" I'd have been thrilled! Nice shave! tp
Looking good, Danny! Thank you, Terry! The cut was a first for me. I really made it count and hopefully memorable enough that I won't do it again.
I think the Hybrid is on sale now for 129.00 and I think it comes with 30 blades. Let me how it shaves. Have you shaved with a Core?
Jumping around in the today's responses....so don't know if someone put this info out there. CK-1 is less spendy. CK-6, Jim is spot on. A little slicker to me also. Scent wise, be hard pressed to tell the difference. John Frum....awesome stuff! Et Tu (copy of Brut/Fougère) also, Supreme Sandalwood, the Atomic Age Bay Rum (literally barrel cured), F-Bombs and the other Doppelgänger's fragrances are very nice too. Next on my list is the Cavendish. Douglas Smythe is almost a chemist/distiller in his approach to fragrances. One thing that is quite the self enable process, ANY fragrance you can get in a $1 sample on their website. When I place an order....I get 2 of a fragrance I'm interested in, it's almost candy on the check out aisle. Then.,...those samples turn into another order. Quite the purchase circle! And dang it @Norcalnewb, you just added more samples I have to get ....
Thanks Gary, I did a test lather and I think I had a little too much h2o (Joe @Trigger, that us the extent of my chemistry education) but it still turned out nice.
I have shaved with the Core. I got three very nice irritation free shaves from it. That's why I decided to go ahead and get the Hybrid. Very nice presentation. It comes with a canvas pouch and the razor in a leather holster.
The Hybrid does peak my interest. If I like the Core I may move on up to the Hybrid. Could that be why Oneblade priced the Core at 19.95? I believe I fell into their marketing campaign.
Hopelessly behind.... Continuing this weeks JWest theme is the first Japanese steel to enter my den, a Takahana Feon 172. She is 6/8 with a full hollow grind. Enjoying the sent of the Oleo El Cabalero.
I'm caught in the PAA whirlpool myself. They were among some of my first soap purchases. I have a few that are pre CK1, not sure what they called that base but it's a good one too.
