Razor - 1955 (A4) Gillette Red Tip Super Speed
    Blade - ladas-super-stainless.jpg
    Soap - Stirling Bay Rum
    Brush - I#V10 Hybrid Boar/Badger in Mesquite
    Post - Alum

Nice relaxing day at home today. We had a mid-day brunch of pancakes, bacon and eggs and just generally hung out all day. Time to shave and start thinking about tomorrow which starts a four day run for me. Since I had used two SS razors the past two days I decided to stay in Superspeed mode and go with the 1955 Red Tip. The most "aggressive" of the SS razors it was the "heavy" offering when Gillette introduced the three versions. This particular one is near-mint condition and was acquired from the classy and incomparable @Primotenore . Just an absolute beauty. I chose the Ladas Russian blade from Moscow. It's a Super Stainless blade that gets lots of love around here and for good reason. Soap is Stirling Bay Rum and the brush is the Moreau. Such a great feel and function to this brush. Can't get enough of it.

Three full passes and they were all smooth and left me with a BBS. No irritation and the razor handled just like it should. Perfectly. I could make this one a daily shaver if I ever decided to go minimalist. Don't panic. The chances of that are much closer to never happening than actually happening. Hope you had a great Wednesday!! Now onto Thursday and another day closer to the weekend!

  9. I’ve never heard of this razor, Ken...off to look it up!
Very nice combo as usual, Keith. I’ve always admired that wooden cabinet in the background as well. Is that where you keep your shave gear?
Very nice. Nomad became Moroccan Myrrh, I believe? Their old formula used to rock...
Great review, Neal. I have one of those badger/boar mixes incoming...

  12. Looks like they are lauching a website to sale their pottery. No lather bowls listed but if someone emailed them, I am sure they would add some. If you say Evan sent you they may raise the price so keep that a secret.
