Thanks Tom Was lucky bidding on this razor .I was actually bidding on a Swaty Hone for a friend that came with this razor . Hone was basically like new condition .Razor was almost NOS .It did have some very minimal hone wear .Not a bad haul for $30
Yesterday’s shave; shave #41 on the Filly 14 Sub Cero edge longevity test, not fresh but trudging along and shaving well. When I started testing the Sub Cero (hard steel), I postulated that there were 3 possible outcomes. 1. It would last about the same and the ‘Sub Cero’ designation is marketing hype; 2. The edge would last longer because the steel is harder and wears more slowly; and 3. The edge doesn’t last as long because the hard steel doesn’t respond to the same amount of stropping as well as the Doble Temple. We’ll know before too much longer. Today’s shave was delightful as AdP Colonia always is, just a classic fresh Italian fragrance. The razor was a Shell 13/16 Silver Steel and the cream, balm, and EdT were all AdP Colonia. Just perfect. BDBS and smelling good.

Saturday Straights' Shave Cold Water Rinse Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap Jayaruh #292 Gravjura 5/8 CWR Granddad's Blend AS Getting back on the horse today. This is my first straight shave since my accident. It is also my first shave with this Russian straight I got from @Redfisher . My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #292 Badger Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the Gravjura 5/8 (1964) and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Finally finished the horn scales and rescaled this Red Injun 101. It takes a great edge and provides a very comfortable shave. I was on the fence and a bit worried that won’t stand up to the Le Grelots, but I am pleasantly surprised.
Thank you all. First attempt at scale making. They came big enough for 8/8. Hand sanded them down to size. And finished them with 2k wet/dry. Had a bit of trouble with centering the blade, but now closes centered.
Oh and one more thing. I would like to thank the veterans here who gave me pointers. You know who you are. Thank you! Regards, Sam
