So, just in case you hadn't heard, THIS happened last night in the Lou.......
I didn't see it but there are other camera views as well. Nothing like a meteor sailing overhead to remind you that the universe is a big and beautiful place. Of course, it could mean something else. One of the local sports talk guys reminded everyone today that it was 69 F on Sunday, we got over an inch of ice and snow yesterday and the temperature was in the teens today and a meteor flew over us in the middle of it. His question......what's next? One of his partners suggested an earthquake, as we o sit near a major fault line. Other suggestions centered mostly on alien invasions but so far, nothing. All is quiet, dark and calm.
So, with the threat of imminent destruction apparently averted, let's shave. Moving back to a DE tonight with the New LC. I do have two of these and rarely use the gold one. I love this particular razor as it was my first raffle prize win on TSD and it is just totally cool. That and the New razors were one of the best Gillette ever made. Great shaving tools with the Long Comb version being just the right mix of aggressive and mild. I chose the Dorco 301 blade that I found in my stash. I never really liked Dorco blades and not just because they have a dorky sounding name. Or is that dorco-y. Anyway.......Not the sharpest nor smoothest in the collection but you know what? Not all that bad either. The main difference is that with this blade I need 3 passes to reach a nice BBS. And, I need two passes to really achieve a DFS. One pass just isn't enough to call ok. Again, no real problem. Since I used the Stirling badger brush and the mutton tallow Port-Au-Prince, I had no issues doing 3 passes. I would have done more if I had just thought about it, just to keep using that great soap.
Great finish, no blood tonight and it's time to put the guys on the fortress walls to watch for more space rocks! I have Natalia front and center to try and catch one if it comes close enough. Here's hoping!
