  3. Thanks Jim. I absolutely love it! It's gorgeous, it's easy to hold, it generates lather quickly, the bowl is just the right size and keeps the brush from clanking. I have no complaints

  8. Awesome setup and image Doug! Nice looking/sounding shave. Brr.....it's barely climbed to 40 degrees today, started at 25ish, and your image makes me colder!

Image 1. Cool setup. Nice red tip!
    Image 2. Uber latherifick.
    Image 3. DAD!?!....

Great image of Declan, but he's learning 'the look'.! :happy097: While the girls almost always want me to do their formal images....that's the look I've been getting for 14 plus years now when I try and catch them off guard.
  9. Thanks Blair! He does love to play coy and is a total ham in front of the camera!

  10. Great shave photo and report Andrew.

Declan is great looking young man.
  11. Great looking shave and photo Rick.
  12. I didn't have the nice ceramic container and grated it into a shave stick. It worked great as shave stick without all the the worry of using it regularly.
  13. Thank you, Clint!

  14. Allow me to address these points, one by one.
    1) Scent. Yes, it is not earth-shaking. HOWEVER, if you infuse the soap, using my proven method, it can be exquisite.
    2) I don't know how a bloom and go can be considered lengthy. Are you so impatient? ;)
    3) Yes, regular use improves performance immensely, but let's remember that in 1898, no one imagined that wet shavers would own 1000+ soaps.
    4) Container is nice, but I wish it would be wider at the top instead of the bottom.
    5) Vintage soaps NEED to be at least experienced by REAL wet shavers. Are you a REAL wet shaver, Jason :signs002:
    6) It mos def© does not smell like Arko or Clubman.
  15. Based on your first three points - yes, the scent is just a pleasant, clean, sort of laundry smelling scent. It's not strawberry/watermelon/lemon/patchouli/menthol with a fancy name. That's ok as far as I'm concerned. Do I like the scents in a lot of soaps? Yep. But it isn't really the most important thing. Just a nice bonus in most cases. How do you lather MWF? Yeah, there are videos, forum posts, and probably peer-reviewed journal articles. You wanna know the real secret? Wet puck, dryish brush. Go. It's really that simple. And if you are using it regularly it's as easy to lather as Stirling. Which, also leads to the third point of it cracking from drying out. No getting away from that but once it rehydrates you still get the same lather, same length of use and all of that.

You are correct that the container is totally boss - I almost want to order a new one with every puck. It is a classic with a great history. As someone who doesn't mind either Arko or Clubman I'll just let you enjoy that benefit.
  16. :signs011:
  17. One more benefit of Mitchell's? You can grate it and also grate Tabac, mix them 50/50 and have a really fantastically easy to lather and slick and protective soap that lasts forever. FatBac.....it's the real deal! :bounce017:
