The Haul: November 2019

Nice pickup!

 

It's blended, so the cedar is rather subdued, which I'm glad for. I don't like a strong cedar. (Maybe look at Southern Witchcrafts' Cedar soap)

Curious what you think of the Lightfoots Pine. I bought some many years ago. Awesome scent, but almost unusable as a shave soap. Good bath bar though!

 

Smells great. I haven't used it yet. It's still on the desk next to me waiting for me to get home. I'll do a review as soon as I use it.

 

1st gen British Aristocrat french import set. What set number I don't know but I assume this one is a 1938 or later because it has patent number 430030 on the base plate.

 

Bought this Famex set with the expectation that the razor cap and handle weren't salvageable, but I didn't care since I already had another Famex to pair with the set. The handle was ultimately no good with the threads stripped out but the cap had enough thread left that I could get my Famex handle to grab those threads for a full tighten and adjustment with threads to spare. Even better I found another handle that will work with this cap aka a Gibbs no 15 handle which I have a few extras lying around.

 

My Yaqi brushes are slowly trickling in , Just recieved my Rainbow 26 mm brown hair brush from 11-11-2019 sale 1 of 3 .

Found a NOS pack of Pal Injector blades in a local antique shop. They had a variety of razors also, but they were priced pretty high.

very cool.i have the english set the same as this.430030 on baseplate ,rhodium plated,no markings on handle..mine is a #15..

Two new shaving creams for me to try from across the pond. I debated on using Xpec tonight but smelled the Cyril Indian Sandalwood and couldn't help myself. Omg does it smell good and lathers so easily.

It's crap for shave soap. Using it as a bath soap now. Doesn't lather properly, and what lather you do get dissipates. Stay away. Shame, because I really liked the smell of it.
