Wow, you shaved very, very early this morning, Gary. Hope everything is ok. The pic looks fantastic, btw.
Here's hoping you get some sleep tonight, Blair.

Everything looks great as usual, Jim!
    Woo Hoo! Happy 10th, Perry!
Does it get any better looking than that brush and razor? Awesome, Clint. The soap sounds like a winner as well.
I live in a cold, dry climate as well, Daniel. Do you use a witch hazel product? It is quite common on here (Thayers is readily available) and is a fine product to use before an alcohol splash. It is part of my daily routine. I would make sure to use the alcohol-free version, though.
Love the razor, Danny! I am a huge fan of Fine soaps as well.
Imho, that Rex razor is too expensive to keep around for mediocre shaves, Jeff. The Vector sounds fantastic.
Much of a difference between the V1 and V2, Mark?

Fantastic photo and shave Joseph! Congrats on finishing off The Fat!

It really looks to me like you have the blade loaded on top of the spring clip. Just to verify, the blade tab should be loaded under the spring clip, like this:

I love that Vector! It works great for both face and head. The Rex delivers an excellent face shave, but because of its narrow window of effectiveness just doesn’t work as a head shaver for me! I suspect because of my RA stiffness and inability to maintain that narrow angle of attack on the back of my head. My question is whether I should keep a razor around that is only good for half the job?

    Thanks, Clint!
I actually like the weather, even though my skin doesn't. :D

    Thank you, Gary!

Thank you, Andrew! I usually do that, but now i just had to drop the AS. Too much for my skin. Hega could work though, it's quite low on alcohol and has a nice amount of glycerin in it.

Witch hazel isn't common here, so i haven't really tried it. I'll have to order some from ebay at some point.

Wholly Kaw SS - La Fougère Parfaite
Heritage Collection - Klenzo - 26mm HMW Heritage 'Gel' Tip (w/band)
Drew Dick 7/8 Damascus Steel - Green Kirinite
Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements ASB - Star Jelly
Wholly Kaw AS - La Fougère Parfaite

A little bit later shave for me today (~7am instead of 5:45am). A little insomnia & broken sleep last night. Got the usual amount, just not all at once. Rolled today's shave with the advice from Andrew @Linuxguile.....put a thick doubled up pony tail holder at the base of the knot/handle. The HC HMW 'gel' tip knot worked much better today. I believe the tips are starting to break in a little, it didn't 'gel' quite so much and hold all the lather. Overloaded the brush with soap, made a TON of nice floppy slick gleaming lather. Did a little bowl lathering and face lathering, and the knot is still not a favorite....but it's not failing the grade anymore like the first few outings. I'll give it some more break in time, always using a band at the bottom. Thank you for that tip Andrew!

WK lathers a little like Stirling (to me), takes a good beating, good hydration, and just a smidgeon more time, but it's worth it. The fragrant Fougère (sweet side) result made for a nice and smooth 3 pass DFS+ result from the Drew Dick Damascus steel. Followed with a small application of PAA's Star Jelly, then the Wholly Kaw La Fougère Parfaite AS. Smooth and smelling fine.

Today's one of those days....started off not really wanting to do much....but the shower/shave routine halfway cured that. :think002:

Hope everyone has a terrific rest of Thursday!
