As you may have deduced, no shave last night. After discovering that I had mis-remembered the anniversary that wasn't really an anniversary, I went into a slight depressed state and wandered aimlessly until the boys discovered me early this morning.

Ivan and Yuri carried me back to HQ and cooked me my favorite Russian breakfast and I feel much better now.

I've recovered sufficiently to set up the next in the no-repeat November shaves here at HQ. Today I chose the Wunderbar Slant razor, and paired it with a Zaza Super Stainless blade. Zaza is a Turkish blade. What other blade is Turkish? Well the most famous would, of course, be the Derby. The two are not related. In terms of quality, the Derby quite a bit better than the Zaza. This blade is rather lacking in sharpness which creates a nice drag effect. If you like that sort of thing. Honestly, in the hyper-aggressive slant razor against two days growth, the first pass was pretty bad. The second and third passes were better and I did manage to find the baby but I paid the price some fairly warm alum in places.
With Arko and the Stirling brush making lather I had plenty of it and it was slick. Just couldn't overcome the lack of an edge on the blade. Could I use a Zaza if it was the only blade available? Yep. However, I'd like to avoid that scenario.
Hope you had a great day and hey, hey hey......Friday is upon us!!! Have a great day!
