  1. I don't know that I ever had sleep apnea but my wife was concerned and wanted me to get checked. Losing weight changed everything. No more snoring and I'm sleeping so much better. It has probably been two years since I've hit the snooze button and more often than not I'm up before the alarm goes off.

  2. That's awesome, Jim. I'm very glad for you, and I had pretty much the same experience. Getting better sleep is probably one of the biggest benefits of losing weight. Maintaining weight is harder than losing it. You have done a fabulous job, and you are an inspiration to me.

  4. Sunday shave: This big 8/8 Silverloaf gave me a wonderful shave today. I only use it when I have a lot of time to shave, it can get slippery so I need to take my time, keep my fingers dry and coated in alum. The shave was excellent but ended in disaster, I put it in a stand to let it dry and it tumbled to the floor, now she needs to be honed again.

  7. Great picture of some good looking gear, Keith! So sorry you dropped your razor but glad it was only the edge that was damaged and not you.

Razor - CJB Artist Club (Pain Stick)
    Blade - DorcoACmini.jpg
    Soap - Wheat State Barbershop
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum

It was a cloudy cold day in the Lou. Not bitter cold, just mid-30's cold that lets you know winter is probably mostly here. Although, we'll be back up to 60 tomorrow. Welcome to our world. I decided to pick up another pain stick tonight. I chose the CJB Greager, which is a DX clone. This razor is identical to the original CJB except for the spring that holds the mechanism together. They put a Feather type spring in the Greager to stop the problems of the original design breaking. If you want to try an Artist Club but don't want to spend Feather DX or even Feather SS money, the CJB is a great one. Since it's no-repeat November for me, I also didn't load with a Feather Pro. Already used one of those. I have a few of the Dorco AC blades left so I loaded up one of those. These are not as bad as you might expect. They definitely aren't as sharp as a Feather Pro, nor as smooth, but they work, get the job done, and you just have to toss them earlier than a Feather. Not horrible at all. Wheat State Soaps Barbershop with the big Stirling Synthetic to make the lather. Not a great soap, not a horrible one. I wondered about it since I was using a pain stick but I made it through fine. I don't like the scent as well as others but it definitely got the job done. Three passes and a near-BBS was the reward.

So much for Saturday! Sunday is next and I hope you have a great one. One more week until DECadent December!! Have a great night.

Shaved in the afternoon before dinner at my mom’s. Nice 2 pass shave with everything working as it should. Love this SV soap base.
Only one more razor left in the rotation this month, more software than the No Repeat though.
    Have a great night all!

  10. Well, it could have been a lot worse if it hit you on the way to the floor...
The ‘case’ for that lethal-looking razor is pretty cool as well, Keith.
