I got through yesterday's posts and looks like some great shaves! I hope everyone is doing well. It was a no shave day for me yesterday.
Thanks Charlie! Re: DX I can see why folks like the Japanese style shavers. For me, I've gotten fond of having scales as part of my grip. And, the built-in edge protection. Re: Health No doubt my extra tonnage is a contributor to the sleep issue. 5 years back, I was driving to the same hospital (not quite) enjoying my final cigarette during my heart attack. In the immediate months following I dropped a nice bit of weight, then....... I puffed like a finely whipped lather of homo sapiens tallow. Even though abandoned my desk job to get back to a more active position in manufacturing I remain fatter-en-ell. I figure a plant based diet might cure it. Re: The Wristwatchb Units..... Will remain in prayer..... for victory throughout their trying times.
November 24th Razor: Razorock Mamba .70 Blade: Gillette Winner (1) Brush: Grizzly Bay FireOfUdun Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: A&E Tertius PAA Galactic witch hazel PAA unscented Star Jelly AS: A&E Tertius No Repeat November Good morning! Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum. My initial lathering attempt was a failure. I added too much water too fast. Easily cured by a return trip to the puck. Have a great Sunday!
Thank you, Charlie! It's supposed to be quite healthy yeah. Black tea has some health benefits too. I tea pretty much daily, especially when the weather is cold. But i still prefer coffee. Black. Now i have been drinking instant, because i'm really lazy. And i loaned my coffee pot to my grandmother, as she managed to ruin the one she had.
Hah. That is some sage advice. For longer than I care to remember, I have been in a position requiring the bottom line at work. The directness has since entered other facets of my life. Also after a few thousand DE/SE shaves debating countless nuances, I just don't have a whole lot to say some times.
Ok, guys, I get it! First shave with my new/old Cooper Monobilt! Effortless three pass BBS. I’m in love with a 90 yr old razor! Go figure! Did not do the dome today; it’s still healing from it’s fracas with the OneBlade. It should be ready for the Jones Shakesharp tomorrow. What a great shave! I could hear the Cooper singing as it mowed down my whiskers. Great razor! I’ve been using Suneko blades for the last week or so! They’re great! Sharp and smooth! I prefer them over Polsilvers. And price-wise, 10 bucks for 100! Can’t beat that with a stick. SOTD 11/24/19 RAZOR: Cooper Monobilt BLADE: Suneko PREP: Cold water rinse followed by scrubbing my face w/ PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap BRUSH: Omega Pro48 Boar SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat w/ 4 drops of M-Bomb POSTSHAVE: Cold water rinse followed by Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel and finished w/ Chiseled Face Cryogen AS Splash
Thanks Bill. We really do appreciate the prayers, and they definitely make a difference. Congrats on kicking the cigarette habit. That took some real determination. I'm sure you'll find a healthy lifestyle that works for you. I love to eat, and it's been a constant battle for me over the years too. I still have occasional wipe outs, but I don't beat myself up over it. I just try to get back on the plan. The sleep apnea, the blood clots I had last year, and racking up a few more miles on the odometer have caused me to rethink a few things. We keep a ton of fruit on hand these days, and that seems to satisfy my sweet tooth. Keep rockin' the DX, and I may eventually join you. I found a few eBay sellers with some good deals...
