Have a great Sunday, Clint. The wife and I are off to church. You’re really putting that Occam’s DE through it’s paces. How’s it working out as a shaver? Is there a particular plate you prefer? Enjoy your shaves, Jeff
Finished off two days of Barbasol&Aqua Velva Musk. A couple weepers this morning, but I survived. It looked like I had a good, thick coating of the B, but maybe not.
Yes this is my second. The original had the spring that broke, but it was their own design on the spring. The Greager is the same exact razor except for the spring change. So far it has held up nicely. As to the build quality of the CJB vs the DX - the DX is superior. It features a stainless head and the blade "door" piece fits a bit tighter. The DX also feels more balanced in your hand, though this isn't really a killer fault with the CJB. You can adjust your grip to compensate and honestly, if you've never shaved with both, you'd never notice the difference. There's a reason @Keithmax Keith has always promoted the CJB as a great option. It's definitely the most affordable option at a decent quality point. There was another one that was less expensive a few years ago, can't remember the name on it, but you definitely dropped quality when you got that one. I nearly ordered one until the reviews all came in so bad on it. The other main difference besides stainless, tighter specs on the blade door and just overall attention to balance and materials between the DX and CJB - the price. CJB's are on the bay for around $23 right now. DX's are available for around $140. When I got my DX I asked Keith about better pricing in South Korea. I think he can beat the price on the CJB, by the way, since he lives there. He can't do any better on the DX, especially since they have been largely replaced by the SS. I got lucky and he made me a deal on his slightly used DX. It's good to have Yakuza contacts.
I know I am missing out on a lot of great post but y'all take care. I just got a triple P shave........ perfect Portage, Pennsylvania shave. The ATT R2 took care of two days growth like butter. The Stirling Noir soap and aftershave splash was icing on the cake. Triple P baby!
