No-repeat continues with the Feather DX AC razor, loaded with a Kai Captain blade. This is the Kai blade that matches up with the Feather Pro. I like the Kai blades, but prefer the Feathers in the AC razors. It's just a matter of taste. The Feathers seem a tad sharper, though the difference isn't enough to save your life if you make a serious mistake with a Kai blade. Know what I mean? I chose the Stirling Sheep for a magnificent lather whipped up by the Stirling brush.

The DX is one fine shaving tool. Perfectly balanced, smooth, just a great feel to it. It's a pain stick so you can't treat it with anything less than respect, but it will deliver a top shelf shave once its mastered. The Kai blade worked perfectly and three passes later the baby is on board after just a bit of touch up on my neck. I do believe this has become my favorite pain stick. The SS is also excellent, but I prefer the head style on this one over the "lipped" SS.

We have three more days of shaves in NOVember then it's on to Decadent December!!! I have five razors, five soaps and five brushes set to go in December. In my opinion, the best of the best in my collection on razors and soaps, and nothing but badgers in the brush category. Yes, you read that right. No synthetics for me in December. No boars either. All badger (well ok, so the hybrid makes it in) to celebrate living the high life. Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving in the U.S. and a great Thursday no matter where you are!

Understood. We live in a state of buy low/sell high capitalism. I did make a choice to deal with a car lot over spending hours with increased risk visiting individuals at unsecured locations.

Ah, the ole "cost vs quality" debate.

Everyone has their comfort level. I can get a good shave from ARKO stick, too. Not everyone likes the scent or drying quality of that one. I guess I have asked, "Is there More?" Like balancing a teeter totter with many seats; cost per use, initial outlay, additional fancy storage tubs or tin foil wrapper, from no scent to what scent do you want, and all the possible additives or bases - all options that can never be fully explored since products and producers keep bringing new stuff to tempt us. There's even vintage options that though more limited for being no longer in production are still sought for their mythological properties.
Can of worms, I say!
