I looked and almost bit. I've already ordered blades and an aftershave from IB, an Envoy from Razor Emporium and Declaration Grooming Darkfall soap and aftershave from WCS. I'm really considering an aluminum Karve if they become available.
NOvember Mike's~~Simpson~~Gillette~~Wilkinson~~Dominica I have to admit, when focussing on one set-up, one isn't presented with the choice-challenge. Coldish day called for a wintery scent. Ergo, Bay Rum. My oh my, have I run the gamut with different Bay Rum soaps and AS. Some were too sweet; some lit my face up; some just didn't float my boat. One thing I really like about Mike's soaps is that they don't try to be something they aren't. You want Bay Rum...that's what you get. Ditto Hungarian Lavender and Vetiver. If you want complicated, look elsewhere. If however, you want a soap that lathers well, has excellent slickness and post-shave, look no further. Mike's is just what the doctor ordered. The Razor du jour was the 1941 Gillette Ranger Tech, loaded with an oft-used, but still viable Wilkinson Light Brigade. Primo's #1 blade, BTW. The 59 holds a lot of soap and I wasn't shy about filling it up. Very plush knot---which is so nice to use. Plenty of paintbrush strokes...maybe a few circular ones too, covered Primo's beard area with a plethora of shiny and slick goodness. Disclaimer: Mike's does not get nearly as shiny as B&M, Eufros or Stirling, but that's a moot point, seeing that the results are what matter. The gap on the RT is small, so you have to focus to keep the angle. Not difficult. If you're a fan of buffing, this is your set up. Almost as good as a Feather AS-D2 in that regard. Three passes and the baby is back in the crib. Post-shave feel par excellence! Completed the shave with my second favorite Bay Rum AS: Dominica Lime. #1 being the traditional Dominica.
Nov 28 Happy Thanksgiving, everyone and a great morning to those outside the US! Straight Razor Shave #129 30 Same Straight/Setup Challenge #19 Wostenholm 5/8 Full Hollow Square Point Stirling Boar Brush Stirling Sandalwood SS and AS Nivea ASB Well, I am human and I did scratch my self on my sideburn because I improperly landed so the point tagged me. Fortunately, my light touch gave me a scratch and not a nick. Did get 2 weepers as well. My face looks like nothing happened except for the scratch, so no biggie. The razor finished off my 40 hr stubble in 2 passes without touchups. Did get a very nice IBSS++. 19 shaves completed and 11 more to go to complete this challenge in approximately 2 1/2 weeks. Finished with the matching aftershave and the Nivea.Enjoy your day, guys!
Wonderful photo and lineup Joseph. I agree with you on Mike's soaps. The scents are straight forward with excellent performance. Now you have me looking at Dominica Lime. My favorite Bay Rum AS is Captain's Choice followed by Dominica.

Quick face and noggin scrape this morning, but still a good DFS. I can always depend on my Vector, one of my favorite single edge razors! Brined the turkey overnight.
