I've never gotten that far into a tub of Stirling soap, but I can see how the splash would run out first.
I can definitely see two bottles of aftershave per tub of Stirling soap. Remember, Stirling's soap tubs are very generous at about 50% larger than most of their competitors (Stirling provides nearly 6 ounces of soap per tub vs. 4 ounces for the average competitor). While I've never used a full tub of Stirling's soap, I have used full tubs of a couple of their competitors soaps and in those cases have had aftershave left over (I am probably a light user of aftershave). You bring up a great point though and that is that Stirling provides such a generous portion in their soap tubs that more than 1 bottle of their aftershave may be needed.
That would be my plan, too. For those soaps I really like, I'm sure to order another matching aftershave.
Oh man, so sorry to hear that Rod! Sure hope you were able to get everything cleaned and patched up. By the way, thanks for stopping by my live shave on Saturday. Was really cool to see you in there knowing how busy you were.
Thank you very much for skipping out on the final 2020 Stoylin Tony Awards Nomination Day...course as it was on Thanksgiving morning perhaps you had other things going on. The choices were 1)-A.S.-Glacial Lime 2)-Body Wash-Baker St. The BEST IN SHOW will be on New Year's Day...the champion and runner-up will be crowned. But I just thought I'd let you know the latest results, since you wanted to be in the audience. .
I’m happy to hear of all the customers (wish you were closer to where I live), but really sorry to hear about the dead possum stinking up the place.
Wow, what a tragedy. I'd think most would have to understand. FWIW, I probably would have hit it with a jug of Electric Sheep.
Wow, that really stinks! Sorry for the bad pun........ I had a mouse die under my fridge by getting biffed in the noggin by the fan blade (while drinking from the defrost water catcher), and know how much that stunk up the kitchen until I tracked it down. I can only imagine a rotting possum!!!! Good luck on the de-stinking process. Please minimize the use of your precious aftershaves though!!!!!!
Injector news...... Stirling Glacial Satsuma soap Simpson Emperor 2 Supply Injector - 2 dot plate **NEW** Supply blades Lucky Tiger After Shave & Face Tonic Stirling Glacial Satsuma AS My new blades showed up today and I had to take the test drive. A very nice first showing in my book, but they won't catch the Prolines. Right now, I have put them about equal with Chinese Schicks. Well above the old Supply Personnas in sharpness and smoothness. If you prefer the Personnas over the Chicks, I can't comment. I considered getting one of the Supply starter kits as a gift for my brother at Christmas, this new blade sealed the deal.
Anybody got any experience with Tsuka? One of my three soaps is Stirling Gentleman. I love it--warm, mellow, and inviting--but The Missus says it smells like "play-dough and dill" (for better or for worse... for better or for worse...). It pains me to do so, but I'm looking for a replacement when I kill the puck. I ordered Vanilla Sandalwood for my son for Christmas, and that is definitely a contender for the inevitable vacant slot, but then I saw Tsuka... Does the vanilla, chocolate, and amber put it in that same 'warm-mellow-inviting' category as SG, or do all the other ingredients put it in a different category entirely? Any thoughts on the scent profile are most welcome.
I may be the #1 Tsuka fan. Rod introduced it as a limited promotional offering at a couple of events this past summer. For The Shave Den it was known as Blood on Steel 2019. And yes, I have been found quilty of hoarding it. It is a dupe of Hanae Mori. My senses tell me; a fresh citrus start, followed by a slightly earthy/woody type smell that fades leaving long lasting whiffs of light/fresh/clean/powdery sensations sometimes till the next day. I can't say I specifically pick up chocolate or vanilla. I find it a complex gentle blend. I'm not a Gentleman fan, but I do Iove Tsuka. The current sale pricing has value. I think I saw samples of the EdT for a couple of bucks if you are on the fence. But, last time I asked, Rod had no plans to make it a regular in the lineup.
SOTD December 3, 2019 Prep: Cold water and PAA Cube pre-shave soap Blade: Trac II cartridge Razor: Surrey Trac II Brush: Surrey badger Soap: Stirling Ozark Mountain Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Ozark Mountain aftershave Wonderful way to start the day!
I just looked, all the Tsuka products are still available. On sale prices. Shave soap, bath soap, aftershave splash, EdT ful size and sample size. If you do not suffer from FOMO (fear if missing out) you could always hope for Black Friday 2020. .... ... Not allowed till they are gone.
That sounds like a wonderful scent progression, and because my wife merely tolerates SG (what man aims to simply be tolerated by his wife), I really want to fill that vacancy with something that I like at least as much. Unfortunately, I'd like to replace it with something that I know I can get at least seasonally. I've already been burned by the Glastonbury hiatus--don't know if muh heart can take much more.
