  1. I used to never shake my aftershave splashes but now I do so every shave to get all the ingredients mixed evenly.

  2. I'm gonna start shaking it.

    But only twice.

I've heard people say that if you shake it more than twice, you're playing with it.

  4. Not wanting to say anyone's wrong or right here. I've never thought about it, but want to ask.....Why would a person shake them. Am I missing something about the formulation that requires the ingredients to be in some kind of suspension or something? If it was something like "oil and vinegar" in an Italian restaurant that didn't combine, yes. But I've never known an AS to be like that. But I have been wrong many times! Don't believe it, ask my wife!

  5. I have some aftershaves that the separation can be clearly seen, like the oil and vinegar you mention. I just give them all a shake before applying.
  6. There are some splashes that certainly separate in the oil and vinegar manner you mention. They need shaking. Others probably don't need shaking, but it's become my habit to shake all of my splashes regardless of ingredients or composition. Just a habit, I guess, but I don't think it's harmful.
  7. Don't mean to say it was. I'll probably start doing it myself now simply because I don't know and I subscribe to that adage "Better to be safe than sorry!."

  11. I'm definitely going to cut back on # of shakes of my Stephan Bay Rum A.S. I did too many in the last use....I bet that brought more clove into the persuasion. The clove scent is supposed to be perfectly blended in with others.

  12. Don’t distress, shake it less!
    :p
  13. I’m really having too much fun on this thread, but @Edison Carter started it.

  17. I never have thought to skake my AS, but after reading this I may start, at least on my Bay Rum.:)

  19. I was a good shaver today-only one shake for my aftershave. No change to the scent...still the same Agarwood goodness.

  20. Yes, no matter the type.

I bought a new bottle of Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood which has different oils, and it specifically says to shake due to the oils settling.
