The ideal thing would be to compare two Q1s next to each other. If the stamping looks identical, then they were probably stamped. I feel if two razors came from two different places, then it would be harder to make the Q from an O. Greg W.
Thank you very much for the reply. I greatly appreciate your site and all the information available there. As to why, I suspect there that it was something like a young machinist who simply knew he was required to put in the next letter in order, upon the new year, and then stuck "Q" in the die, without realizing that the decision makers on such things intended to skip it. It had not happened before, and would otherwise happen theoretically every 26 years.
