Beautiful razor, love the look of shoulderless razors with the notch like that.

Half a ‘century’, #50 for the Filly 14 Sub Cero edge longevity test. After shave #49, I added 20 Tony Miller linen as I have been doing every 7-10 shaves since about shave #35 or so. I think that I can safely say that it’s holding up better than the Filly 14 Doble Temple or Cape 1000 that I tested before. Both of those I really would have touched up at shave 50, based on in-shave smoothness though they still shaved well. I would not necessarily touch this edge up if it were on any other razor with 10+ shaves on it. It’s still shaving smoothly enough that it’s maintaining in-shave comfort. Cream was SMN lathered with a TOBS brush, and SMN lavande topped things off.

I will have to shoot Tony Miller a message. I do have a strip of black latigo I want to make into a strop. It was an extra strip I got when I got my blades grim strop. Already has the 3 holes in it on top and bottom. Just need secondary and hardware.

    Tuesday DECember 10

Going for a straight razor shave today.

    Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - Alpha Outlaw Titanium
Strop - Heirloom/Tony Miller Spanish Bridal
Blade - GEM SE SS (2)
Razor1 - RigaRazor Mappin Lancet replica
    Razor2 - TNNSER 3D
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Clubman Whiskey Woods A/S

    Shave rating 5 of 5

One of my favorite straight razors is the Mappin Lancet Edge razor. It took me a long time to find one and an even longer time to find one in good condition. While I was looking, I decided to ask Sergej from RigaRazor to make me a replica. Sergej did a beautiful job. This is a big 9/8 razor. Did my first pass WTG with the RigaRazor Lancet. Did my second pass XTG with my TNNSER 3D and the result was a nice BBS shave. I re-opened 1 weeper with the RigaRazor and re-opened another with the TNNSER 3D (disappointing). The Tabac lather was nice and thick but seemed a little dry. The Alpha Outlaw brush is one of my favorites. The alum was vocal on both sides of my neck. Finished up with the Whiskey Woods - great scent!

Happy DECember and great shaves everyone.

Sticking with the ivories. This one is relatively new in my den but clearly an outstanding performer. Easy and no drama. Nothing but face-rubbing goodness. :happy036:

Razor rescaled and honed by @gssixgun earlier this year. I've only maintained with pasted leather (3" paddle mounted) strops, followed by Ezra Author 3" linen/leather strop. Smooth shaver!
