Wild West Brush Works w/Zenith 28mm boar
J.A. Henckels Friodur INOX 472 6/8
Thick slick fun bowl lather today with the WWB handle loaded with 28mm Zenith boar. This knot also on the replacement list. Salvaged from a copper handled Zenith...it's a shedder, lost count this morning, and not a favorite like the other boar knots I have. The Friodur went through 14k/50k/100k/200k pasted leather strops, then onto linen and leather this morning before the shave. Small time killer (~3-4 minutes) while waiting for hot water to get to our end of the house....haven't gone the typical route of a localized instant hot water solution....just never been a priority. This fine Friodur is a smooth shaver, honed and rescaled by
@gssixgun a few months ago. Awesome work. 2.5 passes to a DFS+ this morning. Followed on with PAA's Star Jelly (love this stuff, incredible face feel for hours), then the matching PAA AS/C.
For a scent description....PAA's Cavendish equals an ever so slightly lighter version of Stirling's Haverford. Tobacco & Vanilla, both very well done, probably very similar recipes. Between the two, for my nose, Stirling Haverford barely edges PAA's Cavendish being a stronger aroma out of the bottle. Add a second light application of PAA's version, and my snozzle has a darn tough time telling the difference between the two, aroma or longevity.
Hope everyone has a Terrific Thursday!
