DEcember 13th Canadian prewar Tech w Voskhod APShaveCo flattop/Sapele PAA Et Tu combo Thayers Tgif. Switched to this fat handled Tech as part of my ‘non OC DE’ focus. Used a Voskhod, which I have in bulk but haven’t reached for in well over a year. In general I prefer Russian Gillettes to Rapira stuff, but this worked just fine. Wore the ET Tu for SWMBO, but forgot she has a sinus infection... could’ve gotten away with Gentlemen. Have a great day all!
SOTD Friday 13, 2019 Today my shave was with a 1930s era French adjustable Cage Head razor, the Famex. The tighter one cranks the handle, the less efficient the shave. I like an efficient shave and this old razor delivered a two pass near BBS. 5 drops of M-Bomb cooled off my favorite shave cream, Kapo, made in Bulgaria which my Jayaruh Custom Boar whipped into a thick, creamy, protective lather enhanced by my PAA Cube Preshave soap. Altogether wonderful shave! I feel cool, smooth and refreshed!

That's an uptown, dare I say Yankee, shave! Enjoy Christmas dinner with your friends at work, Danny, and be sure to share some photos.
I was amazed at the quality of the shave, Jim. I’m very fortunate to be retired and able to indulge my RAD with SWMBO’s blessing! Beats the heck out of dwelling on aches and pains!
Thanks, Perry! It really was! This month has been a real learning experience for me on the effectiveness of many of these old vintage razor designs! Modern artisans, withe exception of the Vector, appear to just be refining well-known existing designs.
Dec 13 Today is a free day to check out all the Mayo campus resources and go shopping in downtown Rochester. Come to think of it...it probably won't be free. I tried a one pass, combo ATG/WTG shave this morning using hand-applied Tabac lather. It was a fine shave overall. The Trac II and the Tabac are that good. I found out yesterday that I'll need to leave my scented products home on the return trip. No big deal. I've got some unscented MdC...maybe time to break it out. I hope you all are doing well. Thanks for all the kind words and prayers over the past few days. We're heading home tomorrow.
Sorry about the missed opportunity, Jason. Great shave and picture though. Wonderful, Jeff! Stunning, Mark! Have a great day, Charlie!
