It’s a P-1 putting it at first quarter 1970. It’s in remarkably good condition and looks little used.

Do you think it may not be legitimate?

I have been cutting back on my razor purchases recently, but a deal came along to buy a British Everready 1912 for $3.50 Can + $10.00 Can shipping and that is a rarity on _bay. I wanted to see and feel if it is a different razor than my USA Gem 1912 razors. Visually there are not many differences, tomorrow it will be given a shave. ASR built a plant in England in 1936. They produced this model from 1936-53 so this razor falls in there some where of this time line! They were built for UK commonwealth and that was a huge market & this one ended up in the Canadian Market. Very good shape considering it's travels and age.
This razor has been cleaned but it was cared by previous owner well and did not need a lot cleaning.

I have other Gem USA 1912 models but British Everready usally makes just a little more aggressive razors IMO, so the price made it affordable for a hobbyist to do a test and enjoy a great razor, hard to beat any 1912 model or brand 1912 they stamped out. They sold millions of 1912 models under different brand names world wide.

Sweet! I have an identical razor, including that handle variation. In fact, it was my first razor as a wet shaver. I love the weight, feel and looks of my little beauty. I particularly enjoy using Gem Ted Pella's in it, but even CVS brand blades make it a very effective piece.

    I have two of those.
One, my late grandfather's, is on my "rota". and it shaves pretty well. I tried shimming it to mimic the heavier older blades but I did not like the shave - the standard blade does a nice enough job. The other is mint (not in box) and shows no signs of ever hving being used.
    Enjoy :)

I saw that lot on Ebay and was thinking that is a nice lot of razors, good choice and I like my Gillette New long comb razors.

I recently acquired this through purchasing some vintage Gillettes. At first I didn't know what it was. I believe it's a Grand King self lubricating razor after doing some google-ing. I need to throw in a blade and give it a go.

You'll like it if you like mild razors. Watch out though, the aluminum can be brittle. I know I snapped off a tooth a while ago.
