As of now the puck is just inside the bowl. I may grate it to fit later.

  2. If you have already put an oil on the handle, you’d have to get it off to put another penetrating oil on. A wax like a Minwax is ok, there are some higher quality products out there. Lee Valley has a few nice ones. I’m sure you have some good woodworkers supply stores there in Atlanta. They would have good products.
  3. Thank you, Gentlemen.

  4. Oh the oil has already worn off. I will go by the woodworkers supply and look for some higher quality waxes. I just don't like the dried out look.
  5. Saturday DECember 14

    EverReady SE shave today.

    Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
    Soap - Le Pere Lucien
Brush - Jayaruh #330 White Oak
Blade - GEM SE SS (3)
    Razor - EverReady 1933-34 SE
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Pinaud Clubman A/S

    Shave rating 5 of 5

Surprised by today's shave. The blade is getting a little old and this razor and blade just gave me one of the best shaves I've ever received. Very smooth, could feel and hear the blade but it wasn't overly aggressive. A two pass shave, WTG and XTG, and it was easily BBS. The LPL produced great lather that was nice and thick and slick. The Jayaruh brush is a really nice brush. The alum was SILENT. Finished up with the Clubman.

Happy DECember and great shaves everyone.

  10. I have a warning for your wallet. Do not text and receive pictures of gorgeous razors while consuming adult beverages. I just ordered my 3rd Wolfman, a WR-2 SB 1.05mm blade gap. My only saving grace is that it will be a 2 -23 month or more wait before I have to pay for the thing. Lord help me. @Boojum1 Mark is the master enabler.

Well, everything went well on my final shave of this challenge. The lather had a smooth, cushiony consistency. The razor mowed down a 35 hr stubble to a very close BBS shave using 2 passes and a slight touchup on my right neck. Reopened a tiny weeper, but was gone with cold water. Applied the matching aftershave and Nivea to finish this ending shave. Wow! I can't believe I used the same straight razor, the same brush, the same aftershave, and the same balm for 30 consecutive shaves. I want to thank you guys for following and encouraging me during my very first 30 DC rule. I am glad that I ended it on a glorious note. I will do a final summation on what I learned during this challenge, tomorrow. Right now, l just want to savor this moment. Have a great evening, fellas! 20191120_202559.jpg 20191120_202559.jpg

  14. I am sick to my stomach thinking about what this is going to cost me. At least it's 3 months out so I can accumulate the money.
  15. Way to go, Joe!

  16. Buyers remorse usually hits me the morning after I place an order. About the time I'm putting my shave gear away when I see the crazy amount of everything I've accumulated. 2020 won't be a no buy but it will be a large cutback.
  17. Thank you, Clint!

  18. I am the same way. I have been tempted for a very long time to pick up the new Wolfman. I will just tell myself it's cheaper than a new helmet or a new pistol. :D
  19. Thanks, Jim! This was an important challenge for me for many reasons which I will share in my summation tomorrow.
