  3. December 15th
    Razor: H&S Co NO75
    Blade: Wilkinson Sword (2)
    Brush: WWB Lemondrop/Envy Supreme White
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: Zingari Man The Soloist
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
    PAA unscented Star Jelly
    AS: Zingari Man The Soloist

    Good morning!

Not my best shave this morning. My usual three passes and my face is soft and smooth but I had a couple of small weepers and more feedback from the alum than what is the norm. The NO75 is my smoothest razor and it wasn't this morning. Kinda harsh. I'm wondering if I damaged the blade edge while cleaning up the razor for my picture. I'll bin this blade and have another go tomorrow.

    Have a great Sunday! [IMG]

My vintage shave on this 16th day of Decadent December featured the Star DE, manufactured between 1946 and 1959 in Brooklyn, NY by the Star Division of the American Safety Razor Corp. It was designed to compete with the Gillette Tech razor. I found the shave to be a bit more efficient than my Gillette Techs. It chopped through two days growth with little difficulty, and provided a straightforward DFS to both face and dome, enhanced by my favorite shave cream, Kapo, salted with my regular 5-6 drops of M-Bomb. All in all, a good solid shave that left me feeling clean and refreshed and ready for church.

    RAZOR: Star DE
    BLADE: Suneko
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a face and dome scrub with PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap
    BRUSH: Jayaruh Custom Boar #374
CREAM: Kapo Fresh salted with 5-6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash of face and dome with Glyce Glycerin Soap followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Fine Snake Bite

  16. Very nice, Jeff! Since I have been a member of 30DC, it's the first time anyone on 30DC has stated that a vintage razor beat out a Gillette. That is a wow report!

  17. Good Sunday morning all!
Had try my MMOC with the spine on the blade removed. It did seem to change the shave, making it more efficient.
I did the first pass, such a simple change.
By the time I got to the second pass, it was going good. The third clean up pass sealed the deal. Now the Micromatic is a close shaver, no way you can take that away from it. This does seem to up the game just a bit, nice. The head shave was really nice, smooth, clean, just like I like.
Now under the face, not quite the neck, there's a couple spots that itch. Can't see any redness or the like, but that means I didn't have my technique running like it should. No biggie, I'll just have to get my technique on point.

So, looks like I need a..... focus, on this blade thingy.
I'll try it a few times, just to see.
    Everyone
    Enjoy!

  18. Nice picture, Jim! Sorry about the weepers. How do you like the scent of The Soloist? The theme and artwork appeal to me as a musician.
