That's great that you will be using your Dovo shavette, again! May I just offer some suggestions. Take short, deliberate strokes and use a very light touch. Since you haven't used it for a long time, I would do one pass WTG on cheeks. If that goes well, then do WTG on the neck. I wouldn't do the chin or the stache area until you are comfortable handling the shavette. The only way that you will be proficient is to use it on every shave until you can do WTG with either ATG or XTG consistently without errors or very few. Using it once a week, will not make you proficient because you will not achieve muscle memory. Finally, don't tense up and relax when using the shavette. This is a big step for you. I can't wait to here how it went.

 

Thanks Joe, I appreciate the advise and encouragement. I have a goatee so that cuts down on a lot of the problems areas. I'll give it a go this weekend. I really enjoyed shaving with it and was getting pretty good results. Take care.

Nice batch of stubble fed to a new to me DE courtesy of Jeff @jgreenepa. Light weight being all plastic but for the threaded bits, it gave great reduction. Good bit of blade reveal plus the slant action has made me a believer! The top cap of the three piece also has subtle channels that leave a little lather behind for overlapping strokes. Got a decent DFS on my face & a real close finish on my head. Only loaded the brush once but coaxed out plenty of lather for both.

Another face rubbing good shave with the Knight Helmet. Watered down the Black Ship lather a little too much and had to go back and load some more soap from the tub to thicken it up a bit. Wonderful scent that is a good match for Stirling's Satsuma. Have a great day my friends! Now to go try to catch up on the thread.
