SOTD 12/18/19

The 18th of Decadent December started off with a dynamite shave with my LeCoq Cage Head razor. The razor delivered a mid-aggressive, highly efficient face and dome shave. I was a bit concerned that the smooth handle would be slippery during the shave process, but had no problems. The Viking brush whipped the Wholly Kaw King of Oud into a wonderfully scented yogurt-like, shiny, thick consistency. The razor sliced through my whiskers and delivered a two and a half pass BBS. Washing my face with the brush squeezings left my skin feeling soft. An alum block check revealed no hot spots. I feel clean, extremely smooth and refreshed.

RAZOR: LeCoq Cage Head
BLADE: Suneko
PREP: Cold water rinse of face and dome followed by a scrub with PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap
BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
SOAP: Wholly Kaw King of Oud

I have already had a busy day this morning working remotely and now need to fight the traffic to a client site. The SV Felce Aromatica is simply an intoxicating scent. I find it impossible not to enjoy the shave whenever I use this soap. Three passes with touch ups and buffing my lower right neck just managed to catch the baby. This is what @Keithmax would call an "Epic" shave. Asha will be home for break later this afternoon. I get to meet the boyfriend as well. This should be an interesting weekend. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Back on the first of November the FuzzTech made is world debut on the shaving scene and was named by our very own Charlie @wristwatchb. What is interesting is Yaqi is hinting of bringing a version to the market. See the bottom pictures. I’ll have to check on my royalties.

I decided to break the FuzzTech back out this morning on the ATT Calypso handle and give it a go with a fresh Astra SP blade.

It was just a great shave and the Soap Commander was on par and slick as usual. Finished it off with the Whisky and Woods.

Hard to believe Christmas is one week away and this year is about over. I hope everyone has a great Humpday! Take care.

Awesome 3 pass BBS shave this morning. Smooth silky thick lather from SV's Beta 4.3 formula, wonderful Felce Aromatica fragrance. Easily could have called this shave at 2 passes for a DFS+. But...I overloaded the Klenzo via a visit from the Blue Ming lady @Edison Carter, and just wanted to enjoy another pass with this straight and lather combo. WTG/XTG, then followed with slightly edge to center strokes, only to clean lower right neck & jawline.

Getting a little more comfortable with the HMW 'gel' tips, but I am waiting on a replacement knot....so this badger better not act up again....

Finished with a light application of PAA's Star Jelly, followed by a top favorite of mine (even have a backup) of Wholly Kaw's Fougère Bouquet AS.

I shouldn't have been surprised, but again an excellent shave with today's century old Ever-Ready razor. I think this is known as a "shovel head", someone can correct me if I'm wrong, the hinge for the head is at the front. For me, slightly less smooth than the 33-34 Ever-Ready I last shaved with - I could feel and hear the blade but not overly aggressive. A two pass shave, WTG and XTG, and it was BBS. I'm not sure I'm sold on the Cognac and Cuban Cigars soap. The scent is good but it's not as slick and smooth as most of the other soaps I use. The alum was SILENT again. Finished up with the Floid.

A nice 3 pass shave early this morning. Maybe a little left on the chin, but tough to tell 5 hours later what was left from the shave. The Red Tip is such an easy shaver and the Zenith boar did a fine job whipping up the usual quality SV lather- Maybe a little thin on the 3rd pass, but still excellent.
See Evan- you're not going to have to use a lot of Rhodium on this one.

Another face rubbing good shave with the Knight Helmet. Watered down the Black Ship lather a little too much and had to go back and load some more soap from the tub to thicken it up a bit. Wonderful scent that is a good match for Stirling's Satsuma. Have a great day my friends! Now to go try to catch up on the thread.

Thursday shave for December Decadence: First shave after refreshing my big Friodur, she is 8/8 full hollow plus a little longer than my other razors. Amazingly she does not flex at all. Today was last my shave with BOS first edition, I thorough enjoyed this soap, excellent performance and the scent was wonderful. Fortunately there is still some AS left. A few spritz of Sonoma Scent Studios Tabac Aurea on I am off to work.
