  3. Congratulations Evan! 2019 was an incredible year, and I'm glad you're part of the 30 DC. Losing 40 lbs in a year of high stress at work speaks volumes about your dedication and focus on priorities.

I love the avatar showing your sweet daughter! Keep the family photos coming. :)

Merry Christmas to you and your family!
  4. Congrats Jim! That's the coolest looking razor I've seen in a long time. If it shaves half as good as it looks, you have a winner.

I still can't believe they manufacture stuff in Canada. :scared003: :happy102:

    Good afternoon guys!

Stirling Christmas Eve SS and AS
    Nivea ASB not pictured
Did not bloom the soap and facelathered on the pasty soap and adding water. I didn't get enough soap so I had to reload and add water to get the lather to my liking. I did 2.5 passes to get a BBS shave, but reopened a tiny weep. The shave was irritation free. Finished with the matching aftershave and Nivea. I wanted to look nice for church this evening otherwise I would have waited for tomorrow morning. My next shave should be on Christmas Eve afternoon with Chiseled Face Cryogen and the matching aftershave. I probably use one of my Fatboys because I might not feel my frozen face and I want to minimize any cuts, nicks or weeps in the process. I will be going to Christmas Eve service with my friends and I don't want to look like I came from a war zone. Lol! Have a great afternoon, fellas! 20191222_141708.jpg 20191222_141708.jpg
  8. Thank you, Charlie! I shaved with it this morning, very nice!

I've received some fine Canadian woodworking and so far my Canadian razors are holding up. Beyond that I'm unable to comment.
  9. Dec 22nd
    Decedent December

    Razor: Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
PS: Stirling Menthollated Pre-Shave & Proraso Green
SS & AS: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man

I remembered not to apply pressure with the Aristocrat. DFS even though it was just short of BBS. I'm getting faster with more consistent results.

Happy Hanukkah and a very Merry Christmas. I hope this holiday season brings you all peace and hope.

  12. Your shave and photo this morning was outstanding, Jim. I may have to give a Karve a second look. I thought the brass model was good looking until I saw yours. Wow!

Just kidding about everything else. I readily admit that before I get a visit from the Victoria regional Cartel field office. I've got two Canadian manufactured brushes that are top-shelf. No shave bowl though. I don't have a Canadian bowl. Come to think of it, I don't have a Canadian wood/epoxy brush, either. :scared007:
  13. Awesome shave, pic and lineup, Evan! Merry Christmas to you!

  16. Thanks, Charlie.
I never warmed to the looks of the brass or SS but when I saw the anodized aluminum I decided it was time to join the Karve Krowd.

Oh, and I work for a Canadian owned company so my public comments may or may not reflect my personal opinions.

  19. I figure since thoughts of the day and personal reflection are a part of shaving, it's okay to share some of that here. Most here are good listeners and offer friendly support and encouragement.

I would say though, this is a public forum with no regulation or protection. Avoid extensive PM interactions and keep your parents/guardians informed. PIF gifts are common and I'm sure you will be a part of that. In fact you'll get more because you are young and sharing with young people is fun. Have those items shipped to your parents and be sure to get your parents permission before giving any personal information to anyone.

Enjoy yourself! We're glad you are here.
  20. My dear Bride and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
